I've worked in recruiting for roughly eight years, with the majority of my experience (five years) in early-stage and growth-stage tech environments. I've owned full-cycle searches, helped build out processes, and worked very closely with founders and functional leaders.

In early 2024, I hit a natural inflection point. I had grown a lot in the craft, but I had been running at a very high pace for a long time, and I realized I had never actually stepped back to take a long-term view, reset, and think about the kind of recruiter and operator I want to be over the next decade.

So I made a deliberate decision to take a sabbatical. I wrapped up my commitments with PurposeMed, then spent time doing three things:

1. Restoring my energy and routines – I wanted to come back to the market fully charged, not half-depleted.

2. Deepening my thinking about work – I did a lot of structured reflection and journaling, worked through career frameworks, and pressure-tested what environments I perform best in.

3. Keeping my edge sharp – I stayed close to the ecosystem, followed tech and hiring trends, did some light advising and informal resume and interview coaching for people in my network, and updated my toolkit around sourcing and employer branding content.

The sabbatical did what I hoped it would do. It gave me perspective and made something very clear: early-stage tech recruiting is where I create the most value. I enjoy being close to founders, building things from scratch, designing processes and scorecards, and owning outcomes.

I also know now that I prefer being one of the first talent hires rather than just a cog in a large, mature HR structure.

Now, I am intentionally re-entering the market looking for exactly that: a small to mid-size tech company where I can be a foundational recruiter, build and refine the talent function, and partner closely with leadership on hiring strategy. I am coming in with more clarity, a more sustainable operating rhythm, and a lot of energy to go build again.

I believe great recruiting isn’t just about finding people — it’s about building momentum, capability, and culture. Whether scaling from 20 to 200+ or reimagining talent strategy in established sectors, I bring a practical, people-centric, and data-informed approach.

I'm currently seeking a Founding/Early Recruiter or Senior TA Partner role — particularly working with forward-thinking tech organizations entering a growth phase.
