Introducing… the worst type of human.

The guy who cold emails you four times, gets zero replies, and thinks:

“Yep. Time to send another one.”

He literally wrote:

“I’ll keep following up with you.”

Awful approach.

If your sales tactic is “ignore all social cues and harass the 'send' button"...

If your whole pitch is “I won’t leave you alone"...

It's not very glamorous. 

Most of these don't require extraordinary amounts of money or a senior leadership title at a top 4 firm.

This list points to a different type of wealth. 

Being rich in experiences, peace, autonomy, health and community - the things I think we should all value a little bit more.

Yesterday at 8.49pm, I got this message.

“R u free for a chat?"

(It was from a client).

My reaction?

“Oh dear... What’s happened?”

If you’re a freelancer, you might know this feeling.

And because I’m ADHD (prone to RSD), my brain does this fun thing where:

Mild uncertainty =

→ I've done something wrong.
→ The client hates me 
→ They’re firing me 
→ My life is over 

Goodbye everyone.

(Even though that's NEVER been the case).

I called the client.

Here’s what happened...


Client: “Hey, you’ve been absolutely killing my personal brand… and I want you to help my dad build his on LinkedIn.”

Me: "…I'm listening.”

Client: “Yeah, the last time you wrote a few posts for him, he got media invites and inbound opportunities.”

Me: "Right…"

Client: "I know you’ll smash it again. How soon can we start?"


And just like that…

Catastrophe brain → silenced.

For context:

I’ve worked with this client for 3.5 years.

When we started?

He had under 10K followers.

Now?

He’s at:

- 55K+ followers.
- 20M+ organic LinkedIn impressions.
- 30K+ average monthly LI profile visits

And he has a personal brand that directly fuels every part of his business.

His content has helped him:

Hire 20+ staff (inc. biz partners).
Secure 30+ media & PR opportunities.
Speak on stage (Web Summit + Harvard).
Build unreal brand equity in the AI industry.
Attract partnerships + deal flow + investment.

It's a shame so many “experts” do something for 3 months, repackage it into a course, spoon-feed surface-level advice and market it like it’s the second coming of Christ.
