Without real data, AI invents audiences. Here's what a £500K hallucination looks like.

So I asked AI to show me the average US country music fan.

Without any real data, it gave me this: A man in a cowboy hat, denim jacket, standing in a rural field at sunset. 👨‍🌾

Then I plugged in GWI's consumer data through our new Model Context Protocol.

Same prompt. Completely different result: A woman in her 30s in a cozy, plant-filled living room with modern minimalist decor. 👩

Here's what actually showed up in the data:

- 56% female (not the male-dominated crowd everyone assumes)
- 25% actively seek out alternative medicines and therapies
- 25% more likely to use Pinterest
- 42% into gardening, 24% above average for DIY/home improvements
- 19% more likely to scan QR codes from brands

Turns out country music fans aren't tech-averse traditionalists. They're Pinterest mums researching essential oils and comparing mortgage rates.

If you're a Brand Strategist, CMO, or Insights Manager building campaigns around "traditional" audiences, you might be talking to the wrong person entirely.
