The 5-Step Framework (TCREI):

1. TASK
What do you want the AI to do?
❌ "Write an email"
 ✅ "Write a 200-word professional email declining a vendor's pricing proposal while keeping the relationship positive"
Be specific. Use action verbs. Define the output.

2. CONTEXT
Who, what, why, and constraints.
"This is for a vendor we've worked with for 3 years. Budget cuts just hit. I want to stay on good terms for future projects."
Context = the difference between generic and perfectly tailored.

3. REFERENCES
Show examples of what you want.
"Match this tone: [paste example]"
One good example beats a paragraph of description.

4. EVALUATE
Actually assess what you got.
Does it complete the task?
Does it fit your context?
Is the quality good?
Can you actually use this?
Most people skip this step. Don't.

5. ITERATE
Refine based on your evaluation.
"Make this warmer and less formal"
 "Add a specific cost comparison"
 "Cut this to 150 words"
First attempt ≠ final version. Iterate until it's right.
