LoveBrum

LoveBrum is a Charity.  It reaches out to local Birmingham-based projects that are delivering real change to our already-beautiful city.  Once it finds these projects, it profiles the same and then ask its members to vote on which projects they want to see funded.  

Together, we have so far supported local projects ranging from volunteer/family-led counselling projects dealing with stillbirths and neonatal deaths, to school projects that engage with intergenerational activities within local care homes, to local street-clean-up and soup kitchen campaigns.  

This aside, LoveBrum is a movement for a better Birmingham.  We want to celebrate all that is good in this city and in doing so, hopefully restore some real civic pride.

Driving the agency's growth, I gained a hands-on understanding of the nuances of digital marketing across various sectors. I developed an acute eye for identifying opportunities and trends in the digital space, creating effective strategies that helped our clients stand out and succeed in their markets.

The experience also honed my operational management skills, from budgeting and resource allocation to project management and client relationship building. I learned to balance the demands of day-to-day operations with long-term strategic planning, continuously striving for efficiency and excellence.

Additionally, the experience instilled in me a strong sense of resilience and adaptability. In the ever-evolving world of digital marketing, adapting to new technologies, industry trends, and client needs was a constant requirement.

Overall, the journey was enjoyable. A true lesson in building, scaling, and then re-purposing a business.  It has equipped me with a comprehensive skillset and a rich perspective, which I am excited to carry into my future endeavors.

A volunteering role, I helped the organisation seek new partners and sponsors with similar values and ethics to support schools’ football, whilst helping with the development of a PR and marketing strategy so that opportunities to raise the profile of the ESFA were maximised.

- Charity. No one has ever become poor from giving.
- Birmingham. I'm proud to consistently champion this city.

And those nice things were:

- Marketing. Web, digital, social media.
- Law. I genuinely still can't believe that I was an actual lawyer.
- Consultancy. Non-Exec. Board Member. Advisor.

And I've done a lot more bits and bobs.

My main focus currently is:

Radio and broadcasting with the BBC.
Hosting and public speaking through my own business.
And charity (which will always be voluntary).

6 months temporarily managing VAT caseworkers and support staff whilst manager was off sick.

Direct Tax Inspector

Completion of Inspector Training Course (ITC) and Core Professional Training (CPT) - all exams passed.
Undertaking full and aspect enquiries into individuals and companies.
Dealing with an allocation of technical queries received from accountants and taxpayers.
