Additionally, my focus is geared towards managing the internal and external operations of AIM WA, as well as consistently delivering high level advice to our wider Board around policy and planning.

I am a former academic turned social trends and workplace specialist, Board director, keynote speaker, newspaper columnist, and most importantly, Chief Executive Officer of the Australian Institute of Management in Western Australia (AIM WA).

My passion is inspiring better workplaces.  I like to ignite discussions around workplace themes and topics, and I use my column in Perth’s The Sunday Times – called “Workplace Matters” – to get conversations started right here on LinkedIn.

Paris Cutler gave up her career in the corporate world and bought Planet Cake in 2003 as an existing small store with only one staff member, she had a dream to put decorated cakes on the map both in Australia and globally and over the next 12 years accomplished what most thought would be nothing but a pipe dream and made Planet Cake an Internationally recognized brand.

Paris realized that the best way to approach decorated cakes was as a fashion brand rather than as a food product and Planet Cake established its reputation 12 years ago based on its incredible novelty and wedding cake designs.  As a result Planet Cake has created cakes for A-list celebrities such as Nicole Kidman, Celine Dion, Rihanna, Katy Perry, Keith Urban, John Travolta and Lady Gaga as well as for Television and many magazines.  Paris and her team have also created a host of amazing ‘stunt’ cakes the most famous being a realistic replica of the Sydney Opera House for Australia Day 2011, which weighed over 1.3tons and required 32 cake decorators to make.

Paris launched her Planet Cake school in 2004 which now has the impressive title of being Australia’s largest cake decorating school is now licensed to an education partner and teaches in 6 locations around Sydney. With a unique curriculum created by Paris and her team which is continually updated and improved upon, her education program has trained over 5000 students and educated many cake decorating professionals who now operate their own businesses and have become well known in their own right.
