•	Vector and Raster data was acquired from various online databases, literature reviews, and collaboration with team members and researchers from around the world.
•	Created visually pleasing maps and illustrations for public websites and investor presentations.

•	Produced and QC’d aerial imagery products worth over $100,000 for private and government clients using them for natural disaster and solar development projects.
•	Helped team members with questions and problems, showed them tips and tricks, and provided second opinions for difficult QC scenarios.
•	Cross-trained in the LiDAR department to assist with the processing and QC of GIS and 3D point cloud remote sensing data.

•	Initiated and led an investigation into cross-departmental spatial elevation data sharing inefficiencies. Led meetings to collaborate with stakeholders and develop a solution resulting in the streamlining of cross-departmental data sharing.

Developed a strategy to track and assess the teaching of writing skills, critical thinking skills, and academic program success across colleges by designing Excel templates to enter and analyze academic data. Assisted Dr. Jennifer Schneider by mapping critical infrastructure and key resources for local government. Created user-friendly maps of sensitive critical infrastructure and key resources (CIKR), and hypothetical emergency situations. Presented maps as part of a training for Monroe County Emergency Operations personnel.

Graduate Assistant - mapping critical infrastructure and key resources

Performed emissions dispersal modeling in Dr. Karl Korfmacher’s lab. Modeled the dispersion and concentration of particulate matter emissions from diesel trucks. Updated and improved the lab’s methodology, which shortened data preparation time and reduced AERMOD processing time from days to hours.

Analyzed sensitive areas in North Dakota that are potentially affected by pipeline oil spills, such as State Parks, Wildlife Management Areas, Tribal Lands, and drinking water aquifers with Excel, Access, and ArcGIS Desktop. Created interactive maps with ArcGIS Online and wrote a web article to inform the public about the dangers of oil spills.

I am passionate about wildlife, regenerating ecosystems, reducing climate change, and helping humanity live sustainably and in harmony with nature. I am also passionate about building safe and accessible infrastructure to allow people of all ages and abilities to walk, roll, or bike to their destination without needing a car.

My skills and experience:

I have experience in leadership and supervisory positions including as a co-founder for a startup and as a team lead for a technical writing documentation team. My former co-founder called me a “feelings captain.” In other words, I care deeply about my team and coworkers, empathize with them, and make sure they have the tools and support they need to be successful. I also have experience coordinating and collaborating between teams and organizations to develop projects and solutions.

I have extensive experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) as well as some remote sensing. I have used these skills to map, model, and analyze a variety of geospatial data including endangered wildlife habitats, health effects of emissions, truck routes, oil spills, aerial imagery of counties after natural disasters and for solar development, flooding in agricultural land, telecommunications infrastructure, and more. Many of the problems and solutions for nature, climate, and mobility exist on a geographic scale where GIS mapping and analysis can help to understand the problem and design solutions.

I have an MSc in Environmental Science, a BA in Biology and 15+ years of combined experience in these fields. I have a breadth of experience in a variety of roles working in academic, private sector, and startup settings that include animal care, medical lab research, environmental research, conservation, and even telecommunications. This gives me a big-picture view of the nature, climate, and sustainability fields and allows me to make connections, problem solve, and come up with solutions that a more specialized background may not allow for.
