- assess the impact of climate change and climate variability on agricultural crops, including the effects of agriculturally significant climatic extremes
- evaluate adaptation options that can reduce the adverse consequences of change climate change on the environment, ecosystems, water resources management and agricultural sectors;
- study the effects of climate variability and climate change on the main components of the soil water balance;
- test the performance of the AquaCrop mathematical model, for the simulation of bio-physical processes within the soil-plant-atmosphere system.
