Recently, I spoke with a group of moms in our homeschooling community about something people rarely talk about openly:

The long road from 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝘂𝗿𝘃𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗹 𝘁𝗼 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗶𝗴𝗻𝘁𝘆.

At one point, I shared a moment from my own journey that still sticks with me.

There was a time when investing $5 felt too risky.

Not because I didn’t believe in investing, but because when you’re in survival mode, every dollar feels like protection....especially as a single mom with two kids. 

So I found another way.

Instead of using the money I needed, I started investing cashback rewards from my debit card.

It felt small, but it changed something important:

It showed me that moving toward financial sovereignty doesn’t always start with big moves.

Sometimes it starts with finding 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝘀𝗮𝗳𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗻.

That conversation opened the door for many honest stories in the room.

And it reminded me how many people are quietly navigating financial pressure while trying to build something better for their families.

Grateful for spaces where those conversations can happen openly.
