Never make assumptions about your client without clarifying.

I learned this the hard way last week.

I assumed:

Maybe the client doesn't want this task in scope, so I didn't push.
Maybe they're on vacation, so I shouldn't bother them.

It was also their first month working with us.

And as a result?

The client felt unsupported. Unsatisfied.

Totally fair.

In that moment, my values kicked in:

I owned the mistake.
Apologized.
Fixed it immediately.

Here's the thing about running a service business:

Every small communication matters.

Don't assume. Ask.
Don't wait. Follow up.
Don't guess. Clarify.

Because when clients feel unsupported, it's on you.

Not them.

Make sure they always feel seen, heard, and taken care of.

That's the standard.

It's been over a month since I picked up a book.

I've been busy with work.

And when I'm not working? I'm on my couch doomscrolling.

And honestly, it's fried my brain.

I'm struggling to come up with fresh perspectives.
Everything feels stale.
My thoughts feel… lazy.

And I know I'm not alone in this.

When you stop feeding your brain new ideas, your content suffers.

You start recycling the same thoughts.
Rewording the same posts.
Sounding like everyone else.

So here's my reminder (to myself and you):

Input affects output.

If you're only consuming social media, your ideas will sound like social media.

Read books.
Listen to podcasts.
Have real conversations.

Your content will thank you.

This weekend, I sat down to batch content for myself.

First 30 minutes? Completely blank page.

Last 30 minutes? 17 ideas jotted down.

Here's what I did:

I reflected on the last 2 weeks.

Things I learned.
Observed.
Mistakes I made.
Conversations I had.

Then I asked myself:

What lessons can my audience learn from this?

And boom. Ideas everywhere.

What surprised me most?

I didn't scroll through saved posts.
I didn't look at viral content.
I didn't rely on AI.

I just reflected.

And all 17 ideas were unique. Relevant. Real.

Here's the lesson:

The best content ideas don't come from the internet.

They come from your life.

Pay attention to what's happening around you.

That's where the stories are.

3 months ago, I onboarded a client with less than 900 followers.

His book was launching in 4 months.

Today? We've scaled his followers by 63%.

And there's still 3 weeks left until launch.

Here's what worked:

At the beginning, our goal was discoverability.

So we focused on top-of-funnel content and personal stories.

Not selling. Not promoting.

Just sharing his journey. His struggles. His insights.

The posts that performed best?

His vulnerable stories about hardships and challenges.

Not the "how-to" posts.
Not the tips.
The real, human moments.

Because people don't follow accounts.

They follow people.

And if you want to grow, you need to let people see the person behind the expertise.

That's what builds an audience.

I had the weirdest conversation with a prospect recently.

Let's call them Z.

Z told me:

"Right now, I don't have anything to sell. My program isn't open for enrollment. So I don't think I need to post regularly."

And I had to pause for a second.

Because here's the thing:

Personal brand isn't a platform to sell your products.

It's a way to build relationships. Attract opportunities. Foster trust.

If you only show up when you have something to sell?

No one will buy.

Because trust and credibility take time.

You can't just disappear for 6 months, then drop a sales post and expect results.

Building an audience is about providing value before you ask for anything.

So if you want quick wins and fast cash?

I'm definitely not the right fit.
