Hi, I’m Raj.

​Some people meditate for peace, I ask questions. 
Basically, my work is to meet the smartest people and get into their minds. Not literally. 

I talk to them to learn from their expertise, their choices, and their life. And I take my viewers along for the ride.

For me, figuring out money, business, health, relationships, and life was so confusing in the beginning, and I’m sure so many others face the same problem. 

But it gets a little bit easier when you have the right people sharing their lessons (and occasional disasters).

When I’m not doing that, I’m hanging out with my dog, Crypto, who, unlike the real crypto, never disappoints me.

The President of the French Republic, H.E. Emmanuel Macron, was on Figuring Out. 

It was an honour to host him.

But beyond the honour, we see this as a responsibility. 

Because when someone like President Macron chooses to have a conversation with us, it becomes an opportunity to talk about India on a global stage. 

What we're getting right. 
Where we're struggling. 
What the world needs to understand about us.

"The question is no longer whether India innovates. The question is who will innovate with India."

That's what the French President had to say about India. 

The world's posture towards India has changed. 
We're not the market they want to sell to anymore. 
We're the partner they want to build with.

We talked about UPI, Aadhaar, and the way India leapfrogged legacy systems that other countries are still stuck with.

President Macron was surprisingly honest about where France went wrong. 

A country that invented cinema, photography, and the hot air balloon and yet today, the largest tech companies in the world are either American or Chinese. 

He admitted it openly. He said Europe's problem wasn't ideas, it was scale, capital, and appetite for risk. Three things. All three missing.

And then we talked about leadership. About respect. About what happens when private conversations between presidents end up on social media. 

These are the kind of conversations we always hoped this platform could have.

About 10 years ago, I went outside the country for the first time. 

And like all Indian mothers, my mom was like, I’m packing food, take it. 

I said no, of course. Naive confidence. 
“I’ll get food there. Don’t worry.”

She packed mithi koki in my bag anyway. Without telling me. 
(koki is a sindhi sweet flatbread)

I was in Vienna, a small town in Austria in Europe.  And as an Indian vegetarian, I could not find any vegetarian restaurant that would match my budget. 

For 2 days, I struggled a lot with food.  And I called my mom and started ranting about it.

My mom just said check that bag. 
It’s an understatement to say I was on cloud nine. 

Since then, every time I’ve stepped out of the country, koki has come with me. A piece of home that travels with me.

We have reached the point where my mom makes gluten-free, protein-rich koki now. 

I’ve been travelling for work for the past month. Still not done.

I was eating koki today in yet another hotel room, and I realised how moms just know things.  

She knows what you’ll need before you even know you’re going to need it. And somehow, even after all these years, she keeps being right.

Only 6% of GenZ want to become leaders.

"They want everything, but they don't want to work for anything."

That's what majority of leaders believe in.

And I believe it is absolutely wrong, not just wrong. It's current leadership’s problem.

Old leaders don’t understand our generation and the model they built is failing.

Most cold emails don’t get replies.


Not because cold email is dead.

But because most people write them like this

“Hi {First Name},
I hope you’re doing well…”
Delete that.

If you want replies, make it about them not you. Nobody cares about your company. They care about their problems.

Instead of

We’re a leading provider of…”

Try

“Noticed you’re hiring 5 SDRs — usually that means pipeline isn’t where it should be.

Now you have their attention.

Be painfully specific. Generic emails get ignored. Specific emails get replies. Mention something they posted. A hiring trend. A recent launch. A clear gap you see.

Specific feels human. Generic feels automated.

Lower the ask. Stop asking for 30-minute calls right away. Try something simple like, “Worth a quick chat?” or “Open to seeing how this works?” Make it easy to say yes.

And keep it short. Under 100 words. No long paragraphs. No feature list. No life story.

If it feels slightly too short, it’s probably right.

I used to open LinkedIn, 


and close it 5 minutes later.

Not because I had nothing to say.
But because I had too much to say.

Some days I posted tips.
Other days mindset.

Then a random opinion.
Then silence for two weeks.

Engagement was inconsistent.
DMs were quiet.

And I kept thinking: “Why does this feel so hard?”
Then I realized the problem wasn’t my writing.

Most people are terrible at LinkedIn messaging.

Not because they’re bad people.

Because they sound like robots.

“Hi, I came across your profile and would love to explore synergies…”

Delete.

If you want replies, do this instead

1. Make it about them.
Mention something specific. A post. A project. A recent move.
Specific = real.
Generic = spam.

2. Keep it short.
No one opens LinkedIn hoping to read a novel from a stranger.
3–5 lines is enough.

3. Don’t pitch immediately.
The first message is for starting a conversation.
Not closing a deal.

Here’s a simple message that works

Hi Sarah,
I saw your post about building remote teams — especially your point about async communication.

Would love to connect.
That’s it.

No pressure.
No deck attached.
No calendar link.

Just human.
The best LinkedIn messages feel like they were written by… a human.

I believed that too.
Until I actually ran the numbers.
Here is the uncomfortable truth:

You need hundreds of buyers just to feel momentum

I reviewed one of my coaching clients sales call last week.

The service was solid.

The prospect was qualified.

Still, the call did not close.

The reason was simple.

They explained before they understood.

On the call, they spoke about

LinkedIn marketing
content
followers
engagement

The prospect was thinking about

trust
meetings
serious conversations
decision makers

Both were talking.

About different problems.

That is where most sales calls break.
Here is what I asked my client to change.
Start every sales call with one question.

What would make this a win for you in the next three to six months?
Then stop talking.
Listen carefully to the words they use.

Meetings.
Credibility.
Access.
Decision makers.

Now reframe the problem in their language.
LinkedIn is not a posting platform.
It is a credibility check before a conversation.

When someone looks you up, your profile and presence either reduce doubt or create it.
Only after that do you explain the solution.
Keep it simple.
Profile that signals trust.

Content that shows how you think.
Selective outreach to the right people.
Do not sell features.
Sell outcomes.

And never talk price before value is clear.
If one good conversation can change their business, cost stops being the main objection.

Sales calls do not fail because of pricing.
They fail because of poor framing.
Fix the framing.
Everything else gets easier.
