How I switched from Engineer to Investment Analyst?

Everything started when I was a child. Back in 2003, the USA invaded Iraq. I was only 6 years old back then and I never thought this would make a huge impact on me.

As my father collected several books and newspapers on that topic, I could barely read then. But when I was getting a bit older, I was always keeping an eye on that material, including a large, pretty nice world map.

After coming back from my school, I always looked at that map and kept trying to understand which country was in which part. I also looked at the newspaper and the book on the Iraq war and history that my father collected.

That was my early childhood. 

So, from my childhood, I loved history.

I kept reading on that topic and then my father gave me a Religious Scripture, and most of the history there was about the Middle East.

Then came the 2nd significant part of my life, where I learned that a great chaos had just begun in the Middle East, which is known to you as the "Arab Spring."

As I was interested in the Middle East, knowing what was happening there and why it was happening was crucial to me.

I started learning about that since 2011. There, I learned about Geopolitics.

I had studied countless pages on that topic and I realized that Economics has something to do with Geopolitics and History.

In most cases, History and Geopolitics are shaped by the Economic interests of the hegemon power.

So, I started to learn Economics since 2017 to understand the world better and to find the gap between History, Politics, and Money.

As I slowly learned about Monetary Economics, the study from my childhood was sparking in my eyes as I discovered how Money, Power, and Politics act with each other.

As I studied Economics, I discovered the most fascinating part of it, and that was the "Capital Market."

I just got fascinated when I started learning about the capital market and how it functions.

The most important part I discovered here is that all of my study and understanding from my childhood is related here.

And that brought me to the field of Finance, Investing in general.

Whatever, I have a degree in Industrial Engineering, which also helps me enormously to understand the production processes and supply chain of a business.

So, I found my spot as an Investment Analyst, where I can use all of my previous learning and knowledge, and there is no other subject where it can be used.

🔴 China is making Trade impossible according to the Financial Times.

But the reality is that the Western bond market is crumbling because of Chinese trade expansion.

The Financial Times accuses that:

-China does not want to import anything
-China thinks no one can produce better and cheaper than them
-China does not want to rely on foreigners

Even if you assume these are true, is it China’s fault?

The answer is "Absolutely Not."

The West, more precisely America, set the system exactly this way, and the system was built after the 2nd World War.

The USD became the global trade currency and US bonds became the global reserve asset because America won the war and designed the system.

For the US dollar and US Treasury bonds to function smoothly as global trade and reserve assets, the supply of both dollars and bonds must keep increasing.

And the USA will keep supplying USD and US Treasuries through Budget and Trade Deficits.

So America built its economy around the dollar and the banking and financial system while exporting its heavy factories and industrial base to China.

The agreement was that China would keep sending goods and America would send dollars and import Chinese products.

In this one-way trade, China accumulated trillions of dollars of wealth, while Western countries accumulated trillions of dollars of sovereign debt.

Now people in the West, especially the young, are facing a cost of living crisis, and this crisis is directly the outcome of high Sovereign Debt.

But Western leaders are accusing China for the cost of living crisis by saying China took away all the factories and jobs.

Essentially, the West presented China as an enemy to Western citizens.

Now China does not believe or trust Western governments anymore, so it stopped buying Western debt and bonds.

Instead, with trillions of dollars of trade surplus, China is buying Gold.

Not only that, it is integrating over a hundred of its trading partners into a new gold-based monetary network.

Most countries are interested because China is their number 1 trading partner.

On the other hand, the West is losing its last stronghold, the Bond Market. 

You already know the West lost its industrial base to China.

Now the West is attacking China, telling it to stop producing, stop exporting, and start consuming more.

If China obeys that, then China will not be able to expand its trade network and will not be able to establish a monetary network that challenges the dollar and the US Treasury-led financial system.

Because if China becomes successful in establishing a new gold-based monetary network, the entire financial system of the West would collapse, and the West only has the financial economy.

Would you sacrifice your last stronghold?
Most likely not, and that is the ultimate point, not Trade.

I Explain The Global Market & Make It Digestible 📑

🔴 Half a trillion dollars in revenue by the end of 2026 means NVDA is playing with fire.

4 companies are buying 61% of NVDA chips.

These companies have to utilize those millions of chips and train models before offering real services to consumers.

But to utilize those chips for training, far more is required than just chips. They need power supply, cooling systems, warehouse buildings, and logistics.

In the USA, there is a shortage of all these prerequisites.

So if the companies fail to put those chips to work, how will they pay NVDA?

$500 billion in chip sales means the datacenter companies (Amazon, Google, Meta, XAI) need to manage another $700 billion to run the datacenters with those chips.

Because GPUs account for only 40% of the total datacenter project, the other 60% is needed to build infrastructure and power supply systems.

Where will that money come from?

The free cash flow of the 4 companies is not enough, so they will have to issue Debt.

Oracle’s AI debt is trading at a 9% discount, meaning all these companies will face high borrowing costs.

But without developing real products, how will these companies pay off the debt?

These datacenter companies are driving up energy prices. People are starting to protest against hyperscalers for increasing energy costs.

Soon the American Military will have to guard those Datacenters.

By saying all the bad things, let’s say something good:

70% of office work is just writing emails, making documents, working with Excel, and analyzing data. Within a year or two, AI will be able to do all of this with high accuracy and much faster.

So productivity will increase significantly.

But again, that leads to layoffs and reduced hiring, because AI can do most of the work and almost all entry-level tasks. So why keep excessive headcount?

And right now, in the American economy there is nothing to grow without AI.

So whether it goes good or bad, the Fed will ultimately have to intervene and save either the people losing jobs or the Datacenter companies from going bankrupt.

Meanwhile, NVDA will generate a trillion dollars of revenue and half a trillion dollars of profit.

🔴 US Bond Market won’t Tolerate any direct Conflict with China, so Trump is preparing Japan.

The US bond market has 3 legs. One is already seriously wounded, and if one more leg is injured, the bond market will revolt.

Now America is in a state of hesitation.

The USA can’t fight China in a direct military conflict, because the USA exported all its heavy industry and factories to China, and how can you fight your own manufacturing base?

And any battle with China would severely push inflation up, the bond market would revolt to cope with it.

On the other hand, if the USA lets Taiwan fall under Chinese control, American hegemony over Eastern Asia will end forever.

Losing military dominance over an entire region is very bad for the US bond market.

How?

A bond is just US debt used as a savings vehicle, and all other nations across the world accept US debt as payment and settlement in international trade.

Military strength is the backup of the bond market, because if any nation refuses to accept American debt as payment, the American military will force that nation to accept it.

Debt as payment (sovereign bonds) goes hand in hand with military power.

So weakening and losing control over a vast region will definitely affect the US bond market negatively, because the users of the US debt network will decline.

The USA has already lost dominance in Ukraine — Ukraine lacks manpower, fuel, and weaponry, and is on the verge of collapse.

Now losing another front in Taiwan would seriously undermine US military capability. 

If Taiwan falls to China, then the USA will remain strong only in the Atlantic Ocean.

The USA simply cannot contain its 3 enemies in 3 water bodies at the same time: the Black Sea and Russia, the Persian Gulf and Iran, and the South China Sea and China.

So America is trying hard to convince Japan to fight China as a proxy over Taiwan.

America will never take the risk of a direct battle with China over Taiwan. It is economically not justifiable.

If America loses the war, the faith in American credit will collapse sharply. The yield on the 10-year bond would rise to 15–20% overnight.

With an economy carrying $40 trillion in debt, coupled with a 20% yield, bankruptcy is guaranteed.

America will not take that shot. Instead, it will arm, train, and finance Japan.

Now the question is: Will Japan walk in the direction Trump wants?

🔴 20 years of American foreign policy in a single picture.

In 2001 the USA invaded Afghanistan by accusing Al Qaeda of destroying the Twin Towers on 9/11.

Then the US government extended the Al Qaeda link from Afghanistan to Iraq and accused Saddam Hussein of supporting, financing, and training Al Qaeda.

In March 2003 the USA invaded Iraq.

Then there was a man named Abu Musab al-Zarqawi who took leadership of Al Qaeda in Iraq. 

Al Shara, formerly Abu Muhammad al-Jawlani (in the picture), was a disciple of al-Zarqawi.

In the next decade and a half America continued the war in both countries and even opened new fronts in Syria and Libya, and also sparked the so-called Arab Spring, a series of regime changes across the Arab region.

Military operations and wars are the most costly things for any nation, and it was no different for the USA.

To fight all these battlefronts America spent almost $8 trillion in 2 decades.

After spending $8 trillion, American soldiers left these countries and handed power back to the people they started fighting 20 years earlier.

It was a complete disaster for the American government and its finances.

$8 trillion dollars produced no return on investment, no gain, nothing.

Now the USA needs to pay around $400 billion in interest every single year for that $8 trillion expense. Cause that $8 trillion was borrowed.

There is more. 

America also needs to spend another $300 billion per year on veterans who fought in these long wars.

While America was busy fighting in the Middle East for 2 decades, China was busy building massive ports, rail networks, high-speed rail, huge cities, steel mills, energy infrastructure, and shipbuilding capacity.

Now America cannot save Ukraine from defeat and cannot prevent China from taking over Taiwan.

Energy & Time is limited, and if you spend it on destructive purposes you will face misery when you truly need it.

When the interest expense of an empire exceeds its military budget, that nation is already well into its decline as a global superpower.

This year America’s interest expense on its $38 trillion national debt exceeded $1 trillion, which is more than the military budget.

There is no sign this trend will reverse.

If you waste your energy on fighting and take excessive debt, you will eventually lose geopolitical dominance over the world.

Debt is the place where geopolitics and economics meet each other.

🔴 Bitcoin will not fail because civilization cannot afford to lose it.

Bitcoin is not VISA or MasterCard, it is the Fed.

Bitcoin is money, and its monetary policy is written in code and verified by the proof of work mining algorithm.

Bitcoin was born as an alternative to the central banking system.

CENTRAL BANKS have never done anything good for human civilization.

There is no single entity on earth more harmful than the central bank.

Central banks have given us war, poverty, destitution, falling birth rates, and declining quality of goods.

Without central banks, you could retire in your 40s and enjoy your life.

Because of central banks, you must work into your 60s, even work 2 jobs, just to afford a mortgage, car payments, and groceries.

In a sound money standard, prices should fall or at least remain stable, so you would not need multiple jobs. You could afford everything with 1 job, like your father and grandfather did.

The only mandate central banks truly have is to keep inflation alive.

Inflation is the root of all problems. It is not a natural economic phenomenon, it is a central bank phenomenon.

In gold terms, the price of housing, cars, or energy has not increased in the past 100 years, but everything goes up in fiat. Why?

Inflation is stealing your TIME.
By allowing central banks to print money, you are losing at least 20 years of your life.

Do not believe it?
Keep $100 dollars in a vault for 10 years.
10 years later you will find it only buys $50 dollars worth of goods.

Where did the other $50 dollars of purchasing power go?
10 years earlier that $50 dollars represented 5 hours of your labor.

The central bank took 5 hours of your labor for free, and in the same way it is taking decades from your life for free.

Because you work for free for 20 years of your life, you cannot afford housing or a car. You are working for someone else without knowing it.

Bitcoin is setting you free by challenging the central banking system.

Bitcoin is freedom, it is the restoration of human dignity.

Bitcoin cannot fail because the alternative is oppression, theft, war, and destitution.

🔴 By buying 17 million shares of Google, Warren Buffett validated that AI isn’t a bubble.

A $4.9 billion stake in Google is probably the last stock Buffett bought before he steps down.

Analysts and investors are relentlessly talking about why AI is a bubble and why it’s worse than the 2000 internet bubble, but Buffett rejected that idea by putting his money behind Google.

Google is one of the few players leading the AI revolution, so investing in Google is clearly a vote of confidence in the AI agenda.

Google has been saying for 5–6 years straight that it is basically an AI company.

Buffett is the most disciplined investor in the history of financial markets, and he is also one of the best at detecting bubbles.

Before every major bubble burst, Buffett was sitting on a mountain of cash — in 2001, 2008, and even during the 2020 COVID crisis.

So when he himself put his money behind Google’s AI datacenters, he knew AI is truly revolutionary.

AI is a fundamental layer of technology, like the internet, and it will change every aspect of knowledge work.

Sad news for people who still think AI is a scam or that datacenters are a bubble.

America needs AI more than AI needs America.

To handle its massive debt, the American economy must grow at a rate closer to the growth of national debt, and there is no technology other than AI that can drive such high and sustainable growth.

🔴 2025 Bitcoin returned Nothing. Why is it still stuck at $95,000?

The fact is Bitcoin and crypto in general are the riskiest forms of trade in the market.

The 1st reason is that it does not produce any cash flow. 

2nd, though gold also does not produce anything, it can be touched and felt.

Crypto neither produces anything nor can it be touched or felt. That is why it is the riskiest asset in the market.

In the financial market, asset prices are driven by money flow from the shadow banking system, such as hedge funds, repo markets, and money markets.

These markets are basically backed by debt, and this debt is again used as collateral to issue more liquidity.

This means the shadow banking system is highly leveraged. $1 dollar worth of debt can end up as $5 or $6 dollars after the leveraging process.

So the trust between banks and financial institutions in the shadow banking channel has to be very high.

If anyone doubts the credit quality of any participant, the entire system can become fragile and collapse within a short period.

Right now, the shadow banking system is facing such a Trust issue.

The private credit market is really bad, similar to the 2008 era. Delinquency rates are much higher than normal.

As banks hold many such credit balances, they are not fully trusting each other.

This is why, even with liquidity, they are not lending to each other in a self-motivated way.

This is why the overnight credit market is slowing down, liquidity is falling, and the appetite for risky assets is decreasing.

Bitcoin and crypto are the result of that situation.

Yesterday, the Fed met with hedge funds and a couple of Wall Street bankers, hopefully providing them with assurance to intervene if there is a crisis.

The Fed will soon inject liquidity into the market as bank reserves to support new government treasury issuance.

This means we are at the end of the crisis cycle. From December, Bitcoin and crypto will perform much better.

A year-end BTC price of $140,000 is still possible.

🔴 If your Finance Professor starts buying Gold you should Quit his Class.

Aswath Damodaran, the so-called father of valuation, is starting to buy gold.

But the reality is no finance professor can simply buy gold because it goes exactly opposite of their teaching.

How?

Modern finance, which came in the late 60s and early 70s, was built on a very clear foundation.

The foundation was that before 71 the reserve asset, the risk-free asset, and the global savings vehicle for the entire world of finance was Gold.

Famously known as the gold standard.

But in the 70s that foundation was replaced by the American president Richard Nixon.

He abandoned the gold standard, the convertibility between physical gold and the paper or digital dollar at $35 dollars per ounce.

So the world of finance went into free float and no longer had any solid foundation on which the risk-free rate or base cost of borrowing could be determined.

Then the economics departments, business schools and academicians all came to the conclusion that from now on the "US Government Bond" is as good as Gold as a store of value.

So the financial market got a new Base, and that was the US government bond.

And since the 70s every formula and theorem in finance has been built -upon US government bonds as the risk-free rate.

US government bonds became the ultimate risk-free asset, and the pristine collateral for the global banking system.

Basically in the 70s gold was removed from the role of money and US government bonds were made the new money.

You go to your finance professor to learn how to grow money, how to make more money.

But if your professor himself is holding money instead of following what he teaches, why should you learn from him? 

He himself does not believe in the theory he is teaching.
You do not need to study finance to invest in Gold.

The moment a finance professor puts his money into gold, that very moment he denies everything he teaches, knowingly or unknowingly.

Aswath Damodaran knows that something very bad is happening in the bond market, and that every government under the sun is insolvent.

That is why he is coming toward the real money, Gold.

If you become intellectually honest and walk one step further you will reach the conclusion that Bitcoin is 10x better than gold.

And the moment you recognize Bitcoin as the ultimate store of value, by definition you have to deny and reject every single line of corporate and investment finance taught in business schools and economics departments.

Don’t worry, Damodaran will soon start buying Bitcoin too.
And also Zcash.

🔴 Japan 10-year yield surged to 1.71%, the highest since 2008, on the news of a $110 billion stimulus package.

Japan is the most indebted nation with a 260% debt-to-GDP ratio. 
On top of that, Japan has the world’s most aged population.

Those aged populations save their wealth in Japanese government bonds through pension funds.

Rising bond yields mean falling bond prices. 
That is how bond math works.

This means all those pension funds and commercial banks that own large amounts of Japanese government bonds will face huge losses.

This could potentially lead to the collapse of many banks and financial institutions, including pension funds, similar to what happened in the USA in March 2023 with the Silicon Valley Bank fallout.

To save these financial institutions, the Japanese government and the Bank of Japan will come up with trillions of dollars in stimulus packages.

This means the Japanese currency, the yen, will experience a bloodbath. 

The USD/JPY conversion rate is now 154; soon it could reach 200, and in a couple of years, 500.

The question is not if, but when.

🔴 Fed 150 year study shows Tariffs are deflationary, so the Fed and Trump battle is over.

Fed Chair J. Powell cut rates 100 bps in 2024, but the economy did not truly need rate cuts then.

Then Trump came to office, and with massive debt and high rates he expected that the Fed would keep cutting rates.

But Jay Powell paused the rate cuts, even though the job market was turning bad and CPI was under control. 

Powell was saying tariffs would be inflationary, so he could not lower the rate.

For the next 6 to 7 months Trump did a verbal war with Powell every day and night, saying Powell was stupid and did not understand tariffs and rates.

But a new Fed study covering 150 years of tariff data shows that tariffs are not inflationary. It came from the Fed, not from President Trump.

Here Milton Friedman proved correct again with his legendary quote:

“Inflation is always and everywhere a monetary phenomenon.”

In simple words, consistent inflation comes from consistent money printing, fresh new supply of money entering the market.

If money supply remains stable, prices would not rise. Instead, prices fall in the long term because productivity growth makes things cheaper.

Even if inflation arises due to supply or demand issues, it will resolve itself after a certain period, and prices will fall again.

Now the point is, will Powell say sorry to President Trump?

🔴 Government can’t Tolerate Hard Money, America proved it once more.

America minted its last penny ever, ending 232 years of history.

Truly speaking, no government can maintain a hard currency.
It is against fiat monetary policy.

The American government stopped minting the penny because 1 penny (1 cent) costs 3.69 cents to produce, meaning it is an operating loss for the government to keep producing it.

But the obvious question comes: "How did the production cost of 1 penny end up at 3 cents?"

It’s because the penny is a commodity money.
A commodity is a harder form of money than fiat or paper currency.

Hard not in the sense of physical hardness, but harder to produce an extra unit.

Fiat currency can be produced just by clicking a computer button, while producing commodity money requires mining, processing, polishing, and marking. A lot of energy is required.

As the production of fiat is super easy and only the government has the right to print it, the government keeps printing it every day.

Any problem the government sees, it responds by printing more money, because printing money is the only thing the government is super productive at.

Creating more units of money diminishes value of the old supply pool, so money loses its value against real goods and services.

That’s what’s known as inflation.

Inflation affects commodities in the first order, so the price of commodities in fiat terms keeps increasing.

The US government has $38 trillion of debt. If it needed to pay all the debt with pennies, imagine how much work the government would need to do. 

The AMerican government doesn’t have that capacity, so in commodity money terms the US government is defaulted.

But in fiat terms the government can print and pay the debt.

That’s why the government will rule out every single commodity money and will only keep fiat money. That is in the best interest of the government.
