- Added image straighten, blemish removal + local area pixel fix engine, revamped crop & selective focus and other contributions

- Implemented the complete video trim feature for the photos app.

Camera - Windows 8.1 Camera App ( C++ 11, PPL, XAML)
- Improved startup performance by more than 50%
- Improved performance of other core scenarios by significant amount.

I finally met Sundas Khalid at a networking dinner in Dubai

I’d been following her for 3 years
But getting 15 minutes to talk to her in person was amazing

Of course I asked her the one question every creator with a full-time job secretly wants to know:


- How do you consistently put out such high quality content while working a hectic job?

If you’ve ever tried creating content, you know it’s no joke
Balancing it with a demanding job is no less than bootstrapping a startup


Talking to her reminded me of something important:

Behind every polished video or post you see online, there’s someone sacrificing evenings, weekends, and comfort
Just like in software engineering, in life too, there are always trade-offs


And when you meet someone who actually walks the talk, it’s inspiring in a very real way

I left that dinner with a simple thought:
- Keep showing up even if it’s messy and even if it’s slow, it compounds beyond your dreams

Life in the US runs on extremes

The highs are unreal
and the lows hit just as hard

Highs in the US:
	•	Trips to Hawaii or Alaska
	•	Taylor Swift concert
	•	Long road trips, perfect weather days

Lows in the US:
	•	Extreme loneliness
	•	No family around you
	•	Monotonous 9–5 loops
	•	Everything feels transactional

In India, you don’t get these extreme highs
but you also don’t get the extreme lows

You get stability
People
Noise
Chaos
Life happening around you

Both places have their charm
But the emotional bandwidth required is very different

Layoffs feel scary in the moment
But sometimes they turn out to be a blessing in disguise

I’ve seen people use that pause to rethink their career, find work that finally excites them, start a side hustle or move into a role that pays them what they deserve

If you’re going through it right now, don’t lose hope

You might be closer to your next big break than you think

A compliance company just shared how they took over 3 entire cities with billboards
And the behind-the-scenes is fascinating

Delve ran a 3-month campaign in San Francisco, New York, and Austin that completely broke the mold for B2B marketing.

We're talking stretch buses with compliance puns. Subway ads you actually want to read. Billboards with startup humor that made people laugh.

"You can't speed up this train, but you can speed up compliance."

"Drop out of Stanford, get into YC, raise $50M from a16z, and then get SOC 2 compliant."

"These folks fund legends. Legends run on Delve." (Pointing at VC offices.)

The whole campaign was a massive bet. Most companies would never do this. Too risky. Too expensive. Too different.

But Delve did it anyway. And the payoff was huge. People couldn't stop talking about them.

Now they've shared everything. The strategy, the budget, the creative process, what they learned, what they'd change.

They even filmed a documentary about the whole thing.

Life as an immigrant is a different level of stress
I get a lot of questions about work culture in India

But, I can definitely say that

Work Stress in US + Immigration Stress >> Work Stress in India

50% of people thought it was real

I wore the same suit I used during my Dubai trip, and Google Nano Banana Pro did the rest

Honestly, it is pretty amazing

This is how insanely realistic AI content has become

Most people didn’t even doubt it, even close relatives

Over the next few years,
Trust → will come from reputation
not from ‘photos’ or ‘content’. No one is going to believe everything they see

If you’re building a brand online, Authenticity will matter more than ever

Thoughts?

I spoke in front of 10,000+ people this week in Dubai
It was unreal

At the /function1 conference in Dubai, I was part of a panel on something everyone in tech is thinking about:

How AI will change our jobs in the next few years


The best part was sharing the stage with the most amazing panelists
- Elaine Lou Cartas, MS, PCC 
- Ahmed Metwoali 
- Abhilasha Singh
- Mohammed Benzakour   
- Adil-Ul Islam


Each person had a different take, and it made the whole discussion so much better

Standing there and looking at that many people… honestly, it was a crazy feeling
But the excitement in the room made it worth it

So many of us are trying to understand where AI is taking our careers
And I’m learning too

I’ll keep sharing whatever I figure out along the way

I interviewed with 12 tech companies in the last 4 months
Not because I love interviewing

But because I wanted one thing:
-> An offer that checked every box on my list

And my list was long

I promised myself something at the start:
If I felt even 1 percent off, I wouldn’t join

In August, I got my first offer - leading enterprise company
Great company. Great comp but culture not that great
I said NO

In September, another offer - leading broadcasting company
Also said no

Then in October, I finally got one offer that actually checked every box
I accepted it

Honestly, I feel incredibly fortunate to be in a position where I can pick and choose

Took a lot of prep, patience, and uncomfortable decisions
But it was worth it

A 2-3 month gap is not a big deal in long-term but a half-hearted choice would always force me to regret, even at any small things

So, if you’re in your job search phase right now and can afford to choose, here’s my only advice:
- Know your criteria and stick to them. Optimize what works for you - money or culture or a right balance

I met a 35-year-old software engineer last week
Within a few minutes, he shared something that has been on his mind for months

He just had a kid
Has a home-loan EMI
Family responsibilities increasing

And his biggest fear was simple:
What happens if I get laid off?

He mentioned that he doesn’t have any special skill that would make him the first choice for hiring

And the truth is this is most us

Most people worked for 8-12 years, did what was asked, delivered on time, stayed in their comfort zone
but never built anything that gives them an edge today

The markets have changed in last 5 years
Companies optimize heavily on ROI
Average performance doesn’t stand out

This is actually concerning
Most of the folks in 30s or 40s have been in the same situation

So if you are in your 30s or 40s:
- Don’t only do tasks
- Build a skill that compounds
- Show proof of work
- Become visible

Create something beyond your daily job - any side hustle
Your career cannot depend on one company’s decision

Just like you have health insurance, it can be your work insurance

Thoughts?

I can save almost 1.5 hours a day if I stop working out
I will win back time and be more productive

But that would be the worst life I could live
I’ve been working out since I was 18
It has shaped my body, my confidence, and even my mindset in ways that are hard to quantify

I am not someone with abs but the first thing people notice is that I workout, the bar for this in India is below the ground

My mental health is better
I feel strong
I feel confident

On days when I skip the gym for meetings or work, the entire day feels off
Productive, maybe but incomplete

It is not about aesthetics
It is not about measuring progress
It is about how it makes me feel

I don’t know if that makes me insane or if there are others like me too

If you’re “average” in India, you might actually do really well in the US.

I know it sounds bold, and you are free to troll me 

But hear me out,

In India, the competition is wild
Everyone is practicing DSA, grinding interviews, and aiming for FAANG like their life depends on it

In the US?
The competition is still there, but the density is way lower


That’s why I’ve seen engineers who struggled with mid-tier Indian companies get solid roles in the US and grow faster there.

I am one of the examples


Why it’s easier:
• Fewer people applying for the same role
• Interviews are little easier
• Less bias in hiring process
• More companies, more roles, more opportunities


Getting into Google US is generally easier than Google India

Same company, same process, just fewer candidates fighting for the same seat


If one Google India role gets 8,000 applicants and the US version gets 1000, your chances change instantly




If you’re considering moving to the US, focus on:

• Building strong, real-world project experience
• Owning parts of systems at your current job
• Improving communication skills
• Learning to talk impact, not just tech


What has been your experience?

If AI bubble burst, will it be benefit software engineers?

I feel it will have both positive and negative imoact

- The upside
A slowdown will bring focus back to real products and fundamentals. Engineers who can build, scale, and ship reliable systems become even more valuable

- The downside
Funding will drop. Startups will fold. Hiring freezes will return till companies figure out. Switching jobs and negotiating salaries will be harder


It will eventually help strong engineers and hurts average ones
Fundamentals win no matter the market, never compromise with basics

80% of coding has nothing to do with writing code

It’s mostly
• setting up the environment
• digging through old tickets to find something similar
• asking teammates if they’ve seen this error before
• pinging 5 different people because no one knows who actually owns the service
• learning 11 new ways of what not to do

In a way, building software is just a long game of patience, failing again and again till you find the right way

The more patient you are, the better you get at solving problems

Once you accept this
the job becomes a lot less stressful and a lot more enjoyable

If you are still relying only on your monthly paycheck in 2025, I genuinely feel sorry for you

Layoffs are normal now

Even great performers get cut
You can lose your job without warning, without reason, and without time to prepare

The safest thing today is not your salary

It’s the skills, projects, and income streams you build outside your job


A small side hustle
A newsletter
A LinkedIn brand
Freelancing

Anything that helps you stay relevant and gives you optionality is the real deal

Do not tie your identity with your job
And it’s definitely not your only source of stability anymore

Start something of your own even if small and messy

Your future self will thank you

We feel proud when an Indian becomes CEO of a big American company

We celebrate them like national heroes

But we rarely celebrate the founders who are actually building in India for India

And the truth is… 
- Building in India is much tougher
- You deal with Indian markets, Indian customers, Indian rules, Indian chaos
- There’s no Silicon Valley ecosystem and easy capital

Still, people build BIG
They create jobs, solve real problems and push the country forward

Look at China or any other developed country
They treat them as national pride and support them openly

India needs that mindset too

Because the real progress will not come from Indian-origin CEOs with a foreign passport succeeding abroad

It will come from Indian founders who stay here and build here

They deserve the spotlight. This will eventually build the right aspiration to build on the Indian soil

We need India where Deepinder Goyal is celebrated more than all foreign CEOs

You count every experience till you have 10 years of experience

If someone asks me, I specifically mention 7.5 years of experience

But if I talk to someone with 12-15 years of experience, they mostly say ‘10+ years of experience’
