We were never meant to be one thing.

There is no label that can define us. No life path we must forever follow. No single version of success to which we must always subscribe. 

We are a work-in-progress. Constantly letting go of who we were yesterday so we can take one more step towards who we’re becoming today. 

I know this because I’ve lived it. 

I’ve tried almost every form of modern work. I’ve interned, freelanced, contracted, part-timed, been employed and built businesses of my own. All while representing my country in endurance sports, meeting people from all over the world and experimenting with every side hustle I could think of. 

For years I couldn’t give a one-word answer to the question “So, What Do You Do?”

Now I understand that I wasn’t meant to. I’m not here to simplify my complexity. I’m here to design something as unique as I am. And I know I’m not the only one. 

There’s a growing movement of us who are living beyond conventional labels. We’ve outgrown the boxes that can no longer contain our complexity. If that sounds familiar, you are in the right place.

At Kantar, I worked closely with teams across Europe to provide pertinent pan-European analysis on current issues. My main responsibilities included:

- Writing reports that clearly and objectively displayed the data and its insights to help policy makers make informed decisions. For example, the research, analysis and writing of the national report for France for the latest Standard Eurobarometer survey (Winter 2021-2022).

- Organising, drafting, and editing the publication of the fifth and sixth edition of our journal for policy makers; entitled ‘PUBLIC’.

- Creating graphs and PowerPoint presentations to intuitively display relevant data and highlight key socio-demographic insights. Various examples of this include first results presentations of Eurobarometer surveys for the European Commission, as well as numerous webinars on issues of EU policy and the French presidential election for think tanks such as the ‘Maison de l’Europe’ and ‘l’Institut Montaigne’.

Working for six months in an agency of the CPAM, I was responsible for welcoming and advising the public with administrative health insurance procedures whilst promoting new services. 

My role primarily consisted of:

- Welcoming and orientating members of the public to ensure their issue or question was efficiently dealt with.

- Advising members of the public on the necessary administrative steps to take whilst helping to solve any problems they had.

- Promoting new digital services, such as the ‘Dossier Medical Partagé’, a digitalised health file.

- Represented the student body to the university in fortnightly meetings with the CEO and an administrative officer.
- Developed external links with the British Council and a local lycée whilst running campaigns, fundraising, and managing social media and the website.

As an intern helping to launch E&P's international department:
- I wrote and recorded a series of videos on the future of work 
- Helped develop the new english website for international clients.

I'm a researcher working mainly on European public opinion surveys (Eurobarometer), collecting and analysing data from across the EU. 

Why do this? I'm convinced that evidence-based decision making that puts the citizen at the heart of the process is essential for governments and EU institutions. This is not only a democratic necessity but also a social one, to make our societies fairer and more inclusive.

I thrive working in an international environment and am currently enjoying expanding my knowledge of public opinion research, as well as developing many soft skills such as clear communication, rigour, analytical thinking and team management.
