We are a work-in-progress. Constantly letting go of who we were yesterday so we can take one more step towards who we’re becoming today. 

I know this because I’ve lived it. 

I’ve tried almost every form of modern work. I’ve interned, freelanced, contracted, part-timed, been employed and built businesses of my own. All while representing my country in endurance sports, meeting people from all over the world and experimenting with every side hustle I could think of. 

For years I couldn’t give a one-word answer to the question “So, What Do You Do?”

Now I understand that I wasn’t meant to. I’m not here to simplify my complexity. I’m here to design something as unique as I am. And I know I’m not the only one. 

There’s a growing movement of us who are living beyond conventional labels. We’ve outgrown the boxes that can no longer contain our complexity. If that sounds familiar, you are in the right place.

Leading production improvements and overseeing control processes at the Bicester and Wigan locations, emphasising efficiency and quality, developing and enforcing Work Instructions, ensuring compliance, supporting NPI/ NPD with Safe Working Load (SWL) testing and documentation, with leadership of the Process Excellence team, including Quality Inspection and R&D. Managing Technical Vendor relationships and outsourcing. Deputising for the Technical Director as required.

Technical Manager

Production improvement and control with monitoring compliances. Supporting New Product Development and Introduction with product testing, Gateway processes and Work Instruction creation. Promoting ongoing product reviews and Engineering Change Notice processes. Developing cost down programs and improving manufacturing operations.

Manufacturing Engineer

Plastic Technologist involved in liaising with customers, assessing production costs and estimating cycle times, addressing any issues during the tool-making or part manufacturing phases. Schedule preparation, pre-planning and resource forecasting for engineering and other technical activities relating to projects. New Product Introduction (NPI), Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and cooperating with other Engineering teams to standardize the engineering activities across production locations.

Technical Service Engineer

Bristol Robotics Laboratory

The Smartsurg project is designing a new surgical teleoperation system for minimally invasive surgery. This includes a new master/slave system with a range of different end-effector tools for different surgical scenarios. The role involved designing the tooling, robotic fingers and control exoskeletons based on the established surgical requirements and producing conceptual concepts as well as first test prototypes. These interface with robotics systems on both master and slave sides.

Developed for, and as a part for, the Da-Vinci surgical robot.

Research Development Intern

Training with how to programme and simple control of the smaller robotic arms;
Classifying and organising maintenance reports. In addition to being involved in a small design team on the development of the acclaimed dual armed robot - the YuMi.

As a senior engineering and operations leader, I bring a unique mix of technical depth, commercial insight, and transformation experience across complex, regulated manufacturing environments. With over a decade of impact in medical devices, advanced manufacturing, and process optimisation, I’ve built a reputation for driving performance through innovative systems, inclusive leadership, and relentless improvement.

I led cross-site operations at a medical device company, managing two distinct production facilities, one focused on textile-based patient handling equipment, the other on electro-mechanical medical chairs and beds. I’ve restructured production using Lean principles, introduced digital tools, including a complete quality inspection platform built on PowerApps and Power BI, and led new product introductions from partial concepts to fully certified devices. My role spans quality, regulatory, and technical governance, and I serve on the Senior Management Team.

Alongside this, I founded and manage Apex Manufacturing, a UK-based contract manufacturer supporting OEMs and scaleups with injection moulding and tooling. From building quoting tools to writing our QMS ahead of ISO 9001 and 14001, I’ve ensured we’re operationally excellent and ready to serve industry leaders.

Earlier in my career, I developed robotic systems at Bristol Robotics Laboratory, including contributing to the SmartSurg programme for next-generation surgical robots. These formative experiences sparked my passion for manufacturing, innovation, and practical impact.

Recognised as one of the UK’s Top 100 in Manufacturing in 2023 and shortlisted for Young Innovator of the Year, I combine a strategic mindset with hands-on capability. I hold an MSc in Engineering Management and a BA in Industrial Design and Technology, and I am currently progressing toward Chartered Engineer (CEng) status. A long-standing STEM Ambassador, I’m committed to building inclusive futures in engineering.
