🥲 Early in my career, I learned that roles focused solely on research or admin didn’t allow me to flex my creative muscles. So I found my path toward work that sparks joy and meaning.

🙏🏼 Discovering I’m a Highly Sensitive Person (HSP) has also been profound. It’s shaped how I approach life and work, teaching me to embrace my creativity, empathy, and knack for connecting the dots. While being an HSP comes with its challenges, I’m grateful for the perspective it’s given me—embracing progress over perfection and building systems that work for my brain.

😊 Throughout my career I’ve worked in academia, tech, entrepreneurship, and non-profit sectors. Each role has sharpened my skills, broadened my perspective, and strengthened my resilience—ultimately helping me become more of my true self.

✍🏼 But the invisible thread through it all? Writing. From fact-based research reports to fun, emotion-filled copy, I’ve honed my voice and craft. In my current role at Venture for Canada, I write emails, newsletters, blogs, reports, and social media content while building partnerships and strategies.

👀 In my spare time, I write about being an HSP, careers, friendships, and relationships—and I’m currently working on a poetry book!

Excited to share that I'm stepping into the role of Content & Communications Manager at Venture for Canada! 🎉 

This is an exciting chapter as the organization reaches new heights and a wider audience across the nation with a continuation of the Entrepreneurship Through Acquisition (ETA), student programs, and some new ones coming this year. 

That's why communications is more important than ever before, to reach the right audience at the right time. I'm looking forward to elevating our message through tried and true methods but also new ones, like case studies, webinars, and local events. 😊 

I'm looking forward to continuing to work with my lovely team Monique (Dom) Hutson, Luke Colling, across the whole org at VFC, and hearing from participants, businesses, students, and ecosystem partners as we help to make Canada an even more innovative country. 🙏

Content & Communications Manager | Board Member for Women & Money MTL | Poet | Highly Sensitive Person ✨ | 2026 Goal: Publish a Book ✍🏼

It’s not “new year, new me.” This year is about “new year, best of me.” ✨

You see, I don't want to fundamentally change who I am. What I do want is to be more in alignment with my authentic self. 

That means, changing habits that no longer serve me, letting go of old beliefs, and harnessing more joy, creativity, connection, and love into my life. ❤️

I want to be the best version of myself and one way I’m doing that is through a 4 month health program that focuses on nutrition, movement, and water intake. 

This program is intense, with a strict meal plan, accountability check-ins with a certified holistic nutritionist, webinars once a week, and a promise to myself that I can and will do this. 💪🏼

I start next Monday, January 12th and I’m both nervous and excited. 

My “why” behind doing this program is simple - to heal my gut. I’ve had gut issues for as long as I can remember, my doctor “diagnosing” me with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). While managing symptoms, I feel like I’m not getting to the root cause to heal it. 😔

When your gut is out of whack, so are most things - like your hormones, sleep, recovery time, you name it. 

Lately, I’ve noticed that I haven’t been showing up as my best self - bloating, fatigue, and a lack of energy. 👎🏼

It affects every area of my life, from personal relationships and professional performance to achieving my dreams. 

That’s why I’m ready to change my habits and become my best self. It’s not a goal, it’s a way of being. 😁

If you’re an ambitious individual, I see you. This time of year makes us feel like we need to have it all figured out, but you don’t.

Instead of trying to accomplish everything, start with one thing for this season. Think about something that will move the needle, to help you realize your full potential, be in alignment with your true self, and make your dreams a reality. 💫

Now that you know my intention for this season, I want to know, what’s yours?

After a long day this past Wednesday, the last thing I wanted to do was leave my home (it was snowing and cold). ❄️ 

But, I purchased a ticket for LinkedInLocal Montréal a few weeks ago and told a few people that I would be there. 

I gently reminded myself that connection is incredibly important and once I felt the energy in the space, I would perk up. 

And guess what? I did! Chatting with and seeing Melissa Maughn speak straight from the heart about personal branding was so inspiring. 💜 

A few things lingered in my brain and on my heart from what she said: 

- Stop trying to be "professional" and start being you
- Your personal brand should reflect your values
- Let's reframe "what do you want to be known for" to "who do you want to be known as"

My absolute favourite part that got me thinking was, "What two words would you use to describe yourself?" 

All I could think about was creative freedom. To create without inhibition, from the soul, and do so in whatever manner. ✨ 

Now, I want to know, what two words would you use to describe who you are (remember, not what you do)? 🤔

Ok, I wanna know, what’s that one thing that’s moved the needle for your career? 🤔

I’ll go first, aligning my values with my work. It’s helped me determine what kind of environment I want to work in, how I want to feel (excited), and what my non-negotiables are (like flexible working conditions, mission-driven org, and somewhere I can grow). ✨

On A Mission To Help Jobseekers By Networking.

I’m interested in Junior Social Media or Community Management roles. 

Since April 2022, this LinkedIn page has grown from 0 to 18.5k followers organically, in a little under four years. 

I’ve achieved this by creating networking and mostly support-focused content aimed at helping other jobseekers.

Through this work, I’ve built an engaged and active community by posting consistently and actively engaging in comments and discussions.

I plan and write LinkedIn posts with a strong focus on audience interests, clarity, and approachability, adapting content based on what resonates most with the community.

I’ve also helped keep this space safe by taking appropriate action when needed, including reminding the community to stay alert to scams and maintaining respectful, supportive discussions.

I also have a few years experience of moderating for a few other social media accounts/pages. 
(Voluntarily.)

I’ve also had a dream for the past 17 years to start my own online creative business and I am taking steps towards this, but as I have been unemployed for 5+ years I am searching for a WFH paid job I can do alongside.

I wouldn’t usually keep asking BUT: 

This job market has defeated me. 

It’s been a long 5+ years with no job or income since I was made redundant from my full time position as a Retail Assistant in a kitchen shop in August 2020. 

I’ve tried so hard to find work and have applied to 2k+ jobs since. 

I’ve had about 2-3 handfuls of interviews in that time, a ton of rejections and more applications have been completely ignored than ever. 

This experience has made me feel lost and overwhelmed, frustrated and upset. 

I have a dream to start my own online creative business and I AM taking steps towards that, however, I know overnight success is unlikely and therefore, I believe I still need to find work alongside starting. 

I never expected to be unemployed for so long and I’m extremely worried about everything. 

I’ve kept applying to paid jobs even when I’ve felt like giving up. 

I’ve put in the effort. 
I’ve done the interviews. 

And I’ve nothing to show for it… 

So here I am, letting you know that I’m still very much open to work. 

I’m open to WFH positions in social media, community management or admin support for creative start-ups.
