(and yes, it's perfectly fine to have different answers on any given day - our moods are bound to change)

Be yourself? No. 

Know yourself. That is the key.

3 reasons to add value in your LinkedIn comments.

(Number 3 is most underrated). Here we go!

I've been commenting for 5 years straight. But I don't comment like most: "This is great" or "Love this post!"

I make sure that my comments are valuable.

Here's why that matters:

1. It helps you stand out on LinkedIn.
2. It shows respect for the author's content.
3. It educates readers who read your comments.

"What counts as value?" you ask.

1. Add your own insight(s) to a post.
2. Share a real-life example from your life.
3. Add a different POV -> "question the question"

Adding value to people = adding value to their lives. So don't just skim posts. Read them and contribute to them.

"I add value because people added value to my life."

That's the ultimate gift.

For introverts like us, it's hard to show up on social media. Oh boy...

I was afraid to post on LinkedIn until after I attended an event on May 27th, 2020 about "Breaking into the Tech Industry" with tips by Lida Tohidi.

What I learned changed everything.

My biggest takeaways:

1. Be resilient. Don't take things personally.

- Ask for feedback always.
- If you don't ask, you don't get.
- Focus on your strengths and what you know.

2. Always be learning. Be curious and learn.

- 'Keep your finger on the pulse.'
- Find inspiration from your peers.
- Create connections, especially from LinkedIn.

3. Build relationships

- This leads to referrals/more open doors!
- For 1st connections, ask to connect on a call.
- Know how to sell yourself and your experiences.

My challenge to all introverts (this week):

1. Make a goal to connect with at least 1 person a day.
2. Ask 3 of your 1st-degree connections for a 10-min call.
3. Get to know ppl. Follow up with a thank you message.

Together, we'll grow a bigger/better community.
