Currently, Manager Citizen Experience at Gemeente Den Haag, but my background is all over the map: 20 years across healthcare, consulting, and public sector. I've managed teams from 3 to 130+ people in 50+ countries, and I'm still figuring out what works and what doesn't.

I write a weekly newsletter called "Don't Mind Rick" about leadership and creativity. I've swum across the IJsselmeer multiple times, which is approximately 25km. I believe the best systems are invisible—they get out of your way so you can focus on what matters.

I spend my time exploring where technology, strategy and human behaviour intersect - usually in unexpected ways. Years of digging through digital transformation, Data & AI initiatives, architectural triumphs (and the occasional spectacular misfire) have turned me into a digital archeologist and pattern-spotter: someone who connects what organisations meant to do with what they could do next.

My work revolves around making complex technology meaningful and accessible. From TechnoVision trend-shaping to data-powered storytelling and agentic AI discussions, I mix hard tech insight with a touch of mischief and the occasional musical reference.

I teach at business universities, speak at conferences, chair conferences, write quite a bit, and generally try to keep innovation grounded in reality; and slightly more fun than people expect.

Still driven by curiosity, still allergic to buzzword theatre, still convinced that the best ideas happen somewhere between logic, creativity, great stories and some well-timed irony.
