Lead and manage a team of direct reports responsible for all digital marketing efforts at Williamsburg, including ads, websites, email marketing, social media, and HubSpot automation. In this role, I helped drive substantial company revenue growth for the 2023-24 school year and led the successful revamp and relaunch of our four school websites on a tight timeline.

As a result of the pandemic, I shifted the learning modality from instructor-led to virtual instructor-led and rewrote the lesson guides, workbooks, presentations, video scripts, quizzes, and surveys for the 14-day security course, cutting travel expenses 100% for over 200 professionals heading abroad.

I got a chance to flex ALL of my writing chops in this role. I interviewed SMEs to write more than 300 hours of scripts, presentations, workbooks, lesson guides, quizzes and job aids with real-world scenarios and field activities using a new $2M training facility to be used by over 1000 plant and service gas technicians.

Just when I was getting my instructional design legs solid under me and writing great training content for National City Bank, PNC decided to acquire National City. As a result, I had to dig deep into my tool bag to write conversion training. 

At the end of the conversion, I'd written over 100 hours of blended-learning deliverables for over 2,000 legacy National City Call Center employees who were converting to PNC. This contributed to the successful conversion of National City consumer banking customers over to the PNC Financial Services Group.

Straight outta the U.S. Navy and into my first professional instructional design role, scared sh*tless that I'd get fired by day two. 

But when it was all said and done, I'd learned a great deal about real-world, private-sector instructional design. I also created a sizeable tool bag that added value to my knowledge. Specifically, I :

•  Lead designer for an instructor-led course to support a corporate-wide, $ 2M Insight project that included technical system upgrades, soft-skills, sales/cross-selling techniques, and was designed under extremely shortened timelines.  Introduced audio calls and interactive activities to solidify sales training, receiving 100% client satisfaction for >1000 Retail Banking Associates.
•  Designed an interactive instructor-led session for > 170 staff focusing on the enhancements to the Online Banking website and 2 enterprise systems.
•  Lead designer for several live, virtual, product knowledge courses incorporating product mapping with exercises on soft skills and cross-selling opportunities to over 800 Retail Banking Associates.  
•  Designed web-based training courses for >200 staff that focused on highly technical system enhancements for product web sites and backdoor operating systems, ultimately reducing travel costs for trainers and learners by 50%.

Performance Support Specialist II

This is where my story begins - as a US hospital corpsman with Fleet Marine Force (FMF), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), and Preventive Medicine Technician (PMT) experience. I played a vital role in delivering comprehensive healthcare to military personnel in various environments.

As a FMF-qualified corpsman, my primary responsibility was to provide medical support in combat settings. I was trained to quickly assess and treat a wide range of injuries and illnesses, and worked with Marines in the field. My skills included triage, trauma care, administering emergency medications, wound management, and I performed life-saving procedures. I played a critical role in stabilizing patients before evacuation and ensuring their survival under challenging circumstances.

With EMT experience, I was equipped to handle emergency medical situations. I had the knowledge and skills in emergency medical assessments, basic life support, and transportation of patients to higher levels of care. This helped me not only in combat but also during peacetime, where I responded to accidents, injuries, and medical emergencies. 

As a PMT-trained corpsman, I focused on disease prevention, health promotion, and environmental health. My responsibilities included conducting health assessments, implementing immunization programs, monitoring food safety, inspecting facilities for sanitary conditions, and educating personnel on health and hygiene practices. I was able to identify and mitigate potential health hazards, ensuring the overall well-being of military personnel.

I also worked collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team. I coordinated with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers to deliver integrated care. I documented patient information, maintained medical records, and ensured compliance with protocols and standards.

I continuously updated my skills, stayed abreast of medical advancements, and maintained physical and mental resilience.
