Not because Jan was anti-medicine,

What if everything I needed to know about leadership, I learned at circus camp?

I'm writing a TED talk about exactly that.

At 8 years old, I was terrible at juggling. 
Dropped every third ball. 
Couldn't keep my balance on the tightrope. 
Face-planted off the trapeze more times than I can count.

But those failures? 
They were teaching me how to run companies.

Juggling taught me to keep moving when I drop things. You don't stop and stare at the fallen ball. 
You keep the other two in motion. 
Same with business… when one deal falls through, you keep the pipeline flowing.

Balance showed me that true stillness comes from constant adjustment. 
Standing still on that wire meant hundreds of micro-movements every second. 

Just like leading a team through uncertainty.

And falling? 
That taught me the ground isn't the enemy, just a place to reset. 
Every face-plant was data. 
Every bruise was feedback.

These lessons show up every day now.

When a client project goes sideways, I keep the other pieces moving.
