The "automation world" is always changing, new technologies and methodologies coming into the space on a seemingly daily basis. 


My role as Senior Director of Emerging Technology is to first understand what problems these technologies are trying to solve, what are their unique capabilities and differentiators in the market and how can we leverage that into more value for both our clientele and partner network. 

I work with Executive Leadership from both Product & Services companies to create packaged solutions that are implemented via our Delivery team to automate "business outcomes" and most importantly, solve business problems. 

Whether it's Intelligent Document Processing, iPaas, Conversational AI, Process Mining, IRPA or any number of the new and upcoming "categories of automation", we focus solely on solving problems and we use Automation (and her underlying technologies) to do so.

Senior Director - Emerging Technology

Established the Process Discovery practice that is now comprised of 30+ Business Analysts & Process Architects who lead or assist on projects across numerous industries (BFSI, Healthcare, Oil & Energy, Retail etc..) and various Modernization technologies (iRPA, iPaas, IDP, Process Intelligence etc…). We provide our clients with detailed Modernization roadmaps & deliverables that establish a future state and provide clarity on the value to be returned to the business. 

-	Established numerous service offerings across the Modernization spectrum (Process Mining, Task Mining, iRPA etc..) that have resulted in 7 figure revenue streams for the company.

-	Led multiple enterprise modernization engagements involving C-Suite & Executive Management across numerous industries (Banking, Healthcare, Tech and Retail) that have provided millions in savings for our clients and major revenue streams for Accelirate.

-	Created a 3-phase interview model that rated candidates based on their core skills, experience, and critical thinking abilities to ensure optimal candidates we’re being filtered through the interview process.

-	Created an Employee Evaluation model that assessed our Analysts based on 10 Knowledge Areas (Process Mapping, Stakeholder Management etc..) across 4 expertise levels (Introductory, Competency etc..) to ensure each Analyst was making continuous progress during evaluations.

-	Created our Business Analysis training program that enabled all new hires to be ‘client ready’ within a month, providing them with the foundation to be a successful BA with over 50+ trained internally and many more from our clients using our LMS.

-	Created our Process Discovery methodology that enabled all Process Architects to capture the work being done in an Organization/Key Focus Area and assess the work for Modernization opportunities that align with business objectives and corporate strategy, all with minimal business disruption and few meetings.

Oversaw the design and development of Automation Navigator, a system of record for any Automation program that assists programs in identifying automation opportunities, provide savings info and feasibility/ease of implementation estimates along with streamlining the capturing of the ‘Current State’ of a process, all in one tool. Design and development began Q3 of 2018 and was completed by Q2 2019 before being sold in 2020 to a RPA vendor.

As Employee #1 of Accelirate, I helped establish our Delivery methodology and sign our “lighthouse account” resulting in millions of revenue and helped lead the COE to 100+ Automations & $10MM+ Annualized Savings in under 3 years whilst allocated to the project.

- Part of the original team of the Robotic Process Automation Service Line that grew to over 100+ before being acquired by ISG.
- Delivered process assessment and strategy engagements to determine the viability of RPA as a solution given the client processes and environments and quantify the impact of moving forward with automations in the workplace.

Your next client just needs you to pick up the phone
It’s not as scary as it feels.

If you had a few clear signals someone was actually interested, would calling still seem so crazy?

Five days before Christmas, I was sitting at my desk… bawling.
Because I didn’t know how I was going to afford gifts for my kids.
We were $250K in debt from Business #1.

Business #2 wasn’t faring much better.

My husband had become a stay-at-home dad so I could “scale” this thing…
…and I was failing.

Not because I wasn’t delivering.
Not because clients weren’t happy.
Not because the work wasn’t good.

I was failing because I had no way to bring in new clients on purpose.
Every sale I’d ever made came from a referral.

A friend of a friend.
A previous client who mentioned my name.
And I built my entire business on that.

Which meant the second referrals slowed down?

Everything collapsed with it.

That December , one of my clients churned.
Then another.
And another within 30 days.

My payroll was due.
My team needed to be paid.
And there wasn’t enough left for my own family.

On December 20, 2019, I hit my breaking point.

And then, the next morning, it happened. 

I woke up to an email:

“Ok Kara, let’s do it.”

A prospect from an outbound campaign.

Someone who didn’t know me.
Someone who didn’t come from a referral.
Someone who went through a process.

A $4,600 wire that cleared the same day.

The relief… I can still feel it in my bones.

But here’s the insight some founders miss:
It wasn’t the $4,600.
It wasn’t even the new client.

It was the proof.

If I could create one client on purpose, I could create two.
If I could create two, I could create five.
If I could create five, I could build a real business.

That was my “never again” moment.

Never again would I build a business where I hoped someone would remember my name. Never again would I depend on referrals to keep my lights on.

Never again would I let December feel like a threat.

I became obsessed with building a sales driven organization. One that could rely on systems to produce new clients. 

That was best thing I ever did for my sanity!

I used to think I had to go viral to make money on LinkedIn.

Nope.

All I really needed was: 
→ A list of buyers already looking for what I sold → A way to message them that got replies → And a simple system to book them on calls

That’s how I did $327,000 in one year.

No VAs. 
No ads. 
Just smart targeting and talking to the right people.

Go viral if you want the likes. 
Go targeted if you want the cash.

I’m boarding a flight to Australia today…
and I can’t stop thinking about the last time I did this.

Because in 2018, this same trip broke me.
This time, it’s going to build me.

In 2018, I flew to Australia for three months and spent almost the entire trip locked in a sweltering office.

Not because I was “busy.”
But because I had no clue how to generate demand for my business.

My husband took our two tiny kids to the beach every day…
and I stayed behind, reaching everywhere, hoping something would bring in clients.

Nothing did.

No qualified leads.
No predictable pipeline.
No process to convert strangers into clients.

I had told my husband (and his family who we were staying with) that this business was something special.

But on that trip?

It didn’t look special.

It looked like pressure, guesswork, and missing moments I’ll never get back.
Tiny toes in the sand.

Sunny mornings I only heard about when they came back.

It took me the next 18 months to build a very different business, one with systems, demand, and repeatability.

Fast-forward to today:
The business hit its goals this year.

Everything is working.

I could coast through December and January without guilt.
But I want more.
I want to grow again.

I want more predictable MRR.

And I want the bonus that will help us buy our first short-term rental in Mont Tremblant next year.

So today—literally today—I’m stepping on that same plane from Canada to Australia…

but running a completely different experiment:

The Q5 Experiment.

It starts the moment the wheels leave the ground and ends the moment I land back home.

For the next 8 weeks:
→ 1 hour a day
→ 4 days a week
→ Build $30K in new MRR
→ All in public
→ All while living my best Australian summer

The contrast is wild.

In 2018, I was trapped inside a business I couldn’t trust.

Today, I’m expanding the one I built with intention and systems.

Q5 isn’t about survival.

It’s about growth, discipline, and choosing to lead when everything gets quiet.
If someone had shown me what predictable pipeline looked like back in 2018,

I wouldn’t have spent that trip sweating in an empty office.

I would’ve been outside with my babies.

So I’m showing it now.

Everything I do.

One hour at a time.

LinkedIn feels a lot like a gym membership you swear you’ll use “next Monday.”
You collect connections. You post a little.

Then nothing happens… and you start wondering if the algorithm has a personal vendetta against you.

Here’s what finally clicked for me after I booked 82 appointments in 30 days:
Your problem isn’t reach.
It’s reps.

Most people treat LinkedIn like a slot machine, they pull the lever, hope for dopamine.

But the platform behaves more like strength training: time under tension, repeated daily, compounded quietly.

You’re not the 20-year-old newbie who sees muscle appear after one workout.
You’re the 80-year-old with old sales injuries, content hesitation, and a little internal eye-roll every time someone says “just be consistent.”

For 30 straight days, I put myself on a training plan:
• 20 minutes posting
• 10 minutes engaging with power accounts
• 10 minutes nurturing my Hot 100
• 10 minutes answering DMs
• 10 minutes following up on open loops and offers

Sixty minutes a day. No skipping leg day.

The first two weeks were brutal.

Wrong people engaging.
Crickets in my inbox.

Nothing but the “is this worth it?” phase most people abandon.

But in week three?

Everything compounded.
The momentum flipped.

82 appointments hit the calendar.

Too many people quit during the “what is she even doing?” chapter.

The ones who keep going build a growth engine that works long after the hype dies.

Your LinkedIn results aren’t randomness.

They’re reps done after everyone else walks out of the gym.

What’s your biggest LinkedIn frustration right now?

What if all this was for nothing?
A founder told me something recently that stopped me cold.
"My biggest fear isn't failing. My biggest fear is that all of this—the late nights, the time away from my kids, the strain on my marriage, the grinding, the stress, the years it will have been all for nothing."
Founders don't talk like that publicly.

But privately? This fear is everywhere.

Not because they're not talented.
Not because they're not capable.
Not because they're not working hard enough.

One metric at a time.

I messed up.

And if this is your first time seeing me, here is the quick version of what I am doing.

I am running something called the Q5 experiment.

For the next 8 weeks, I am in Australia and I am adding $30K in new monthly recurring revenue from scratch.

I only allow myself 1 hour a day to do it.

No ads.
No assistants.

Just me, inside LinkedIn and my CRM, sending outreach, sending offers, sending videos and making dials.

These are the daily actions that create conversations and close deals in my business.

I know my numbers.

I know exactly how many conversations I need to start each day.
How many videos I need to send.
How many calls I need to make.

And how many offers I need to put in front of the right people.

To hit the goal of $30K in new MRR by the time I get back to Canada.

The plan was solid.

But here is where I messed up.

It took me 38 hours to travel here.

The time zone change knocked me out.

And then I lost another full day getting back on track.

So I didn’t miss a little work.

I lost 3 full days of revenue generating activity.

And here is what most people do when they fall behind.

They tell themselves they will just make it up tomorrow.

Tomorrow turns into next week.

And then they wonder why their pipeline is empty.

Outbound does not work like that.

You need 12 to 15 touch points in a 2 week window for a prospect to convert.

There is no making that up later.

Consistency is the system.

So here is what I am doing today.

Tripling the dials.

Tripling the videos.

Tripling the first touches.

This is the only time I will allow myself to make up missed work.

After today there is no room left to slip.

I should have built the travel and the time change into my numbers.

That is on me.

The mission is still the same.

$30K in new MRR.

1 hour a day.

A real life outside of those hours.

Q5 does not care that I am on the beach.

Results do not pause because I am on vacation.

I messed up.

I am fixing it.

And I am going to show you everything inside this experiment as it unfolds.

• Keep it under 45 seconds
• Use the person’s name
• Point to one detail from their profile
• State the problem you help solve
• Give one clear next step
• No long scripts
• No pressure
• Direct and clear

Video works because people want to know who they are speaking with.

They respond faster when they see your face and hear your voice.

I run my business from anywhere.
I do this because I learned how to sign clients without meeting face to face.
Our closing rate on offers is 62 percent.

This is in a niche filled with marketing experts, bold promises, and people who have tried versions of my service before and had a bad experience.

We still close most offers for four reasons.
• Follow up is mandatory. The way you follow up is what moves people forward.
• Buyers want proof, client results, next steps, and timelines. We give all of this before they ask.
• The offer is clear. No tricks. You understand the outcome and the time required to reach it.
• I make offers only to people we can help. This gives me full conviction during the close.

Q5 Update:
I am about to land in Sydney.
Then a two and a half hour drive down the coast.
Two deals closed over the weekend.
Twenty eight thousand MRR left to build.
I planned to add thirty thousand MRR by the time I got on the plane back to Toronto.
My husband and I have a surf trip on January 11.
I might turn that into my new target date.

Most LinkedIn outreach fails for one simple reason: it feels like a stranger shoving a flyer in your hand. Video doesn’t.

LinkedIn is just a massive networking room.

A video message is the digital equivalent of walking up, making eye contact, and offering a handshake.

And honestly?

People respect the person who steps forward first.

That’s why video outperforms every other outreach format:

• Effort Signal — You invested time. Humans reciprocate effort.
• Pattern Interrupt — A real face in the DMs stops the scroll immediately.
• Trust Transfer — Credibility skyrockets the moment they can see and hear you.
 • Silent Demand — Even the silent viewers check your profile… and many boomerang back weeks later.

I’ve booked conversations with 52 senior leaders using nothing more than this strategy.

This rule + the anything over 15cm of fresh powder and I’m calling it a day.

I used to fear a five hour workday.
I thought less time meant less growth.
I thought shorter work blocks meant slower progress.

The truth was simple.
I did not trust my system enough to shrink my hours.
This is why the Q5 experiment matters to me.

One hour per day.
Four days per week.

Real targets.
Real tracking.
Real output.
This idea stayed on my mind for years.

I wanted to know if a tighter work window would make the business stronger.
I wanted to know if focus beats volume.
I wanted proof.

Q5 gives me the structure to test this.
No guessing.
No noise.

Only inputs, pipeline, and outcomes.

If the system works in one hour, it works anywhere.
That is the point.
