Social Media & Content Specialist

For 14 months, I assisted a leading Montreal office leasing team with their marketing and administrative tasks. This gave me insight into commercial real estate transactions as well as the needs and pain points of brokers and their corporate clients.

Here are some of the projects I worked on:
- Launched marketing campaigns for new listings (email, videos, paid advertising, etc.)
- Learned to use Adobe InDesign to create branded brochures
- Introduced a LinkedIn social media strategy that increased engagement and followers across the team
- Refined the market survey format to help companies understand the options on the market
- Developed presentations for pitches and client reporting calls (PowerPoint & InDesign)
- Organized and ran successful broker events to promote the team's listings
- Executed administrative tasks: trade records, marketing budgets, scheduling tours and meetings, filling out RFPs, updating listings on various databases, answering emails, etc.
- Oversaw bilingual communications: copywriting, proofreading, and translating (English and French)

My work quickly caught the eye of CBRE Canada's National Marketing team, where I was promoted to Social Media & Content Specialist. My experience working with a broker team now informs my approach to working with real estate professionals as part of CBRE Canada's blog and social media platforms.

City of Kingston

Seeing the amount of waste generated on a daily basis made me realize the importance of sustainability and how stories can influence the way people perceive things. In fact, reading just one misleading article can make people lose faith in recycling.

So I made it my mission to create reliable materials debunking common recycling myths and make information on local programs more comprehensive.

I created all sorts of educational materials from a quarterly waste reduction newsletter, to a food waste reduction webpage, and even updated and translated (English to French) content from the local Waste app to support the City of Kingston's sustainability programs.

I worked with the community through partnerships with local groups and stakeholder engagement in public consultations (focus groups, open houses, community events) to determine the best waste strategies for Kingston's citizens.

The most rewarding part of my job was leading facility tours and presentations for grade-school children (English and French). Being able to answer kids' questions and teach them about waste reduction gave me hope for the future of our planet.

I used Zoom long before it was cool. 

As a teaching assistant for an online university-level French class, I got to share my passion for languages by leading online tutorial sessions on Zoom for two school years. 

I did this on top of having a full-time load (the first year as a student, the second while completing an internship), allowing me to develop solid time-management skills.

I graded assignments and answered questions during tutorials, via email and on the OnQ discussion forum, working alongside two other teaching assistants and a professor to ensure students got the best French education possible.

My days at Amber's consisted in operating the cash register, assisting customers and taking orders for floral arrangements. I also did some cleaning, proved that I have a green thumb and posted pictures and advertisements on the store's Facebook page (all still useful skills to this day). 

During the holiday season, I got to perfect my gift wrapping skills so should you be lucky enough to ever receive a gift from me, know that it will look pretty.
