Capacity factor answers one core question underwriting question:

How often does this asset actually earn its keep?

High capacity factor assets do three things exceptionally well:
- Convert capex into predictable utilisation
- Enable long-duration, underwriteable cash flows
- Limit downside through operational predictability

What’s often missed is that capacity factor isn’t static - it’s managed.

Availability, maintenance strategy, outage execution, and supply-chain resilience all move the number. Small improvements compound over decades.

From an operating lens, value is created by:

- Lifting the floor, not chasing the peak
- Reducing forced outages
- Designing for repeatable, auditable performance

In energy infrastructure, returns don’t come from clever narratives.
They come from assets that deliver - consistently, transparently, and under scrutiny.

How I see the strongest nuclear portfolios allocate capital

They don’t choose between extension and expansion

They sequence them deliberately.

Recent agreements between Meta and Vistra are a clear reminder of a pattern seasoned operators already understand.

Life extension and expansion aren’t competing strategies.
They’re complementary ones.

Life extension does the heavy lifting first.
Extended units deliver predictable cash flow, known operating envelopes, and balance-sheet resilience - stabilising the portfolio under real regulatory, market, and execution pressure.

Expansion comes next - selectively.
Uprates, new units, and optionality are layered onto assets that already earn trust with regulators, lenders, and system operators.

Together, this unlocks something more important than MWs: portfolio-level risk reduction.

Stable nuclear cash flows de-risk growth capital, improve financing terms, lower blended WACC, and increase strategic flexibility.

At scale, this isn’t project selection.
It’s portfolio architecture.

Extension builds resilience.
Expansion creates upside.

Judgment is knowing when, where, and how to deploy both.

That’s where durable nuclear value is created.

Why spares strategy is a generation strategy.

And why it matters at the executive level.

Because spares shape output, not only logistics

It’s easy for spares to be treated as a logistics task.
Inventory. Warehouses. Procurement.

In nuclear, the implications extend well beyond logistics.

A spares strategy determines whether you generate power.

One delayed component can:
- Add weeks to an outage
- Erode capacity factor
- Turn availability into uncertainty

At fleet scale, that’s not a maintenance issue.
That’s a generation issue.

The strongest operators treat spares as:
- A hedge against forced outages
- A lever on capacity factor
- A way to remove blockers in life‑extension and refurbishment

For operators managing ageing assets and long‑term refurbishment cycles, spares aren’t overhead - they’re insurance against lost clean energy.

Across the utilities I’ve worked with, the strongest results always came from treating materials as a generation asset, not a cost centre.

If you want predictable megawatt‑hours, you need predictable materials.

No spares strategy → no generation strategy

Safety culture isn’t a poster or a course.  

It’s what people do when no one is watching.  

In nuclear, safety culture isn’t a destination.

It’s a constant focus.

It’s absorbed.
Observed.
Reinforced.

Built through thousands of small decisions made by people who care about the work they do.

And those moments show up every day:

The technician who pauses because something feels off.
The engineer who asks the uncomfortable question.
The supervisor who escalates early, not late.
The colleague who explains the why, not just the what.

These aren’t grand gestures.
They’re quiet, repeatable actions.

And they’re what create trust, predictability, and reliability.

Leaders don’t create safety culture by talking about it.
We create it by modelling it.

In how we plan.

Gas-fired electricity enables AI growth.

That’s the logic behind AI Energy Zones.

AI doesn’t scale gradually or wait for grid upgrades. It arrives fast, demands massive amount of electricity, and expects 24/7 uptime - forcing a new energy architecture.

How AI Energy Zones form

Phase 1 - Speed
Gas moves first. It’s dispatchable, financeable, and quick to permit, letting AI clusters break ground now.

Phase 2 - Lock‑in
Nuclear follows to anchor the zone with long life, predictable output, and stable costs. This is when the zone becomes permanent.

Phase 3 - Resilience
Gas shifts to the flex layer. Nuclear carries the baseload AI never turns off.

Why it matters:
This isn’t gas vs nuclear - it’s sequencing.
Gas solves time‑to‑power.
Nuclear solves time‑horizon.
Together, they solve AI reliability.

The strongest AI power strategies design zones:
Firm power at the core.
Flexibility at the edges.
Long‑term certainty for capital.

AI isn’t just reshaping compute - it’s reshaping entire energy system around it.

Robotics doesn’t replace people.

It replaces variability.

I’ve seen outstanding teams deliver the same task in slightly different ways - different shifts, different access conditions, different interpretations of “good enough.”

No single decision was wrong.

But the accumulated variance became visible later as rework, inspection friction, and schedule noise.

In nuclear delivery, variability is risk.

Every manual interface introduces human variance - across fatigue, access constraints, and judgement under pressure. Over time, that variance compounds.

Robotics is how you cap variance without removing skill.

It shines where:
- Repeatability matters
- Access is constrained
- Quality must be demonstrable, not assumed

The real win isn’t speed.
It’s predictability.

Predictable execution.
Predictable quality.
Predictable outcomes under scrutiny.

LinkedIn Strategy for B2B Experts in 2026: Build Inbound Authority in the Age of AI Search

The first step to start marketing yourself on LinkedIn is NOT to optimize your profile. Especially for business owners. Because, how can you optimize if you don't know who you're optimizing for?

Doing so will lead to:
- Creating content consistently and not getting any leads 
- Getting inbound calls but they cannot afford your offer 
- Getting inbound calls that ghost you after the call or that say they will “think about it” because they are too early in the buying journey or do not care enough 

Either way it will result in wasted time,  energy and expertise and it could lower your morale and get in your head.

Here’s what has helped me personally and for my clients:

1. ONE mission for LinkedIn for the next 3-6 months. Usually aligned with the top business priority if you are leveraging LinkedIn to drive your business goals. For example, if your top business priority is to grow your email list, then leverage LinkedIn to grow your email list lol.

2. ONE person that you want to attract to your profile (the most likely to drive that top priority forward with the least level of resistance). Established business owners, you have leverage here because you have data. Analyze who those people are based on the data. Why they chose you, why they started with you when they did, etc.

3. ONE call to action. Double down on the CTA that has worked for closing that ONE type of person before. Don’t reinvent the wheel because you see what other people are doing. Do what works for you. For example, if calls have worked for you, no need to build a complicated funnel. Just do dm to call. Or call directly.

4. ONE category. You are marketing to both humans and AI now. Leverage the domain authority that LinkedIn has to signal to humans and AI outside of LinkedIn (like via Google search and Google AI mode) that you are the real deal in your niche. I would do this based on the top reason or top service/skill the top clients come to you and pay you for. For example, one of my clients now owns her niche inside and outside of LinkedIn because she doubled down on job search for med sales execs versus just job search for professionals. 

5. ONE offer. Many clients start with me and they have a very high ticket B2B offer and maybe are launching or thinking about launching a low ticket offer. They want to sell both at the same time. I have found that it is best the first 90 days to find the best messaging for the first offer and then when that is figured out, add messaging for the second one.

90% of energy should be allocated to defining these things (strategy) and 10% on profile optimization (positioning of the strategy) because when these things are clear the profile and positioning take care of itself.

I’m one of those people that love to drive if I’m on a road trip. Like I’m the one who volunteers to drive because I like to think and enjoy scenery. At the same time I’m really not a car person at all. All that to say, I never thought I would like a Tesla  let alone the Full Self Driving, but I have been proven wrong. If you haven’t experienced FSD yet, I highly recommend. It’s something you have to experience. This is just a little snapshot of how FSD handles turns and driving down a semi windy road.

I used Anthropic Claude's Cowork for the first time. It organized 5,000+ files in my computer in 90 seconds. 

It found a file for me with a general query from a few years ago. 

It went into my inbox and deleted promotional emails and archived old conversations. 

It created visual charts based on an excel spreadsheet that I gave it from a recent webinar. 

It created a powerpoint presentation for me (with me copy and pasting a LinkedIn newsletter article) and giving it a screenshot for how I wanted the slides to look. The context and design was NEARLY PERFECT. All with just one prompt, in less than 5 minutes. 

Just like prompting ChatGPT became the norm over the last 2 years and changed buying behavior. This will too. 

Start to learn how to prompt a co-work agent. Do your best to get familiar with it to be able to anticipate how it will change your prospects buying behavior and needs within the next 6 months (because I'm sure every Anthropic competitor is about to release their version of cowork, and they will all get better faster than you can blink). 

For reference: Two years ago I had Claude computer use go to amazon and buy a Christmas tree for me. It took 20ish minutes. Claude cowork could do it in 2 minutes (easily). 

If you are a business owner, this will inevitably change your market. 

- Audit what you offer that is likely to be commoditized in the short term. 
- Focus on the highest value skills and services that are the hardest for AI to provide. 
- Be clear on who is most likely to buy those high value solutions

Make sure that your content reflects that shift accordingly. You must master your messaging!

Start to share your expertise CONSISTENTLY on long-form video and live video as often as you can. [Yes, I know you are busy, but I cannot overstate how critical this is]. 

Doing so will put you in the best possible position to:
- Earn trust with the right people at scale 
- Prove to AI that you are the expert that you say you are (so that cowork agents help you get found by more of the right people) 

Like Tony Robbins says, "Losers react and winners anticipate."
