We did our first Sales 101 meetup in Mumbai. 

Mumbai has plenty of sales talent.
But when it comes to SaaS sales, the ecosystem still feels early.

In Bangalore, you trip over SaaS sales folks every second coffee shop.

In Mumbai, they’re a bit more like rare Pokémon, you know they exist, but you have to go looking for them. 

That said, the people who did show up were fantastic, might I say Bomb-bae?

Month 3 of trying to hire 😎 

Company: OMG! We can’t close this role.

Us: Hi 👋 We’re hiring the exact same role for A, B and C. Want help?

Company: No no, we have inbound. And referrals. And a strong belief system.

Us: Cool. Ping us anytime.

Month 6: 👀 

Company: We are tired.
We made a wrong hire/didn't hire at all.
We almost made another wrong hire.
We rejected good candidates.
We entertained bad ones.
Our team morale is hanging by a thread.

Here’s the thing 👇

Hiring revenue roles isn’t about getting profiles.
It’s about pattern recognition.

• Knowing what “good on paper” but bad in reality looks like
• Knowing compensation benchmarks
• Knowing how to close candidates before they ghost
• Knowing what the market is actually doing (not what LinkedIn says it’s doing)

By month 6, the real cost isn’t recruiter fees.
It’s lost pipeline, missed targets, and team burnout.

If you’re on month 3… you already know what month 6 looks like.

If I’m a founder hiring, or a recruiter scanning profiles in 10 seconds, I don’t want to decode your creativity. I want clarity.

Are you an SDR? Say SDR.
Are you doing outbound? Say outbound.

Your job title is not your branding playground.
It’s your discoverability.

When you use random titles:
1. You don’t show up in searches
2. You confuse people
3. You look less credible, not more

If you still want to use fancy titles, at least put a bracket on the side and mention SDR.

Clarity > Cleverness. Always.

That’s it. That’s the post.

No frameworks. No 10x hacks. No viral tactics.
Just someone from the community showing up, trying, and winning.

Sales 101 exists for this exact moment.

Because most people in sales don’t fail due to lack of information.
They fail because they’re doing it alone.

No feedback.
No safe space to ask “stupid” questions.
No one saying “you’re on the right track, keep going.”

So we built a place where:
• You can learn without feeling behind
• You can ask without feeling judged
• You can win, and people actually care

Our values are simple. But also subjective.

What feels like “help” to one person might feel like “noise” to another.
What feels like “push” to one might feel like “pressure” to someone else.

And that’s okay.

Because Sales 101 isn’t about one way of doing things.
It’s about showing up for each other, in whatever way actually helps.

For us, it looks like:
• Paying it forward when someone else did it for you
• Celebrating small wins like they matter (because they do)
• Being honest, not impressive
• And choosing consistency over perfection

If someone sleeps better tonight because they felt supported,
we’re doing something right.
