Imminent Abstractions is an umbrella for both consulting work and exploring various startup business ideas.

Consulting work included:
* Hubspot marketing website using Tailwind, Hubspot's template language which is a lot like Rail's ERB
* Hubspot research for clients looking into extracting data from APIs into a unified data dashboard.
* Part time CTO for a London based startup in HR Tech

Busineesses explored:
* PoopyApp - app for channeling user pain in apps and enabling the users to pressure companies to fix their bugs.
* Mindley - app for booking and managing Therapists (think Betterhelp but with less funding)
* B2B website plugin to allow forms to be autofilled from external data sources
* Oneworkout - app for booking personal trainers
* Surf Camp - A surf camp in Spain. No tech but my surfer co-founder burnt out.

Oneworkout is an airbnb like app for booking personal trainers around the world. I built the app using tech: Nextjs, React, Typescript, Firebase, Tailwind, MUI component library.

A startup incubator where a bunch of entrepreneurs are thrown together for a few months to pair up, come up with a business idea and then pitch for £120k funding. I found a few co-founders but we separated for personality differences before having a chance to pitch for funding.

I built a startup's music service MVP app as a responsive mobile and web app using tech: React, Typescript, AWS. The client came to us with full Figma designs of what they wanted, and I worked closely with the the designs, and the client's CEO and Product Manager to iterate on the build and gather feedback from them. Since the Figma designs were bespoke, I built a full component library from scratch. 
I additional worked on some smaller projects including: Switching A client's app from a payment provider that was collapsing to Stripe in 2 weeks, and building out a bespoke marketing website in for a well known Pharmacy brand using NextJS, Typescript, and Tailwind CSS.

DeskSense

My first startup I created. The idea was to automate seating plan changes in large organisations. Large orgs tend to have very complicated constraints on seating plan layouts for the company, and every time a team grows, or a project ends, an entire replan can sometime be triggered. It was a beautiful problem to solve with software and it had been validated by about 3 facility managers in large london businesses. but sadly this startup failed with struggles to get traction from those facility managers. Since covid, I'm very glad this failed in 2020, since covid  would of hit hard. Looking back i think a key reason for its failure was I didn't get enough Facility Managers involved and I didn't keep them excited whilst i built the app, and as a result when i needed feedback they had all gone silent.

Hired to spearhead a new project that would optimise margins paid on trades. Working closely with Treasury finance team. Used Python, pandas + numpy, and Jupyter labs to quickly iterate, whilst using mypy type annotations and pytest to keep quality of code high and increase confidence in its calculations. 
Working with the non-technical customer team, i learnt the importance of setting expectations and orienting the progress of the project around the outcome they're expecting.
I left when team was disbanded after unsuccessfully receiving funding.

Lead Quant developer

Palantir Technologies

At Palantir i had a really vague role that bounced between: full stack developer, devops, customer success, project manager, and interviewing >100 onsite candidates. Tech i used was proprietary cloud platform like AWS, Java, Groovy, Python, Spark, Hadoop. A lot of the clients and the work is confidential, so apologies for the vagueness of projects below.

AML & Anti-Scams for large commercial bank - I joined a small team from Palantir meeting client to work out how to solve our Use case. After investigation we came up with a solution that greatly improved efficiency and accuracy by creating a unified view of customer graph enriched with external data and some machine learning for deduplication. My focus was on integrating the insane volumes of data in our data lake, building some fancy data pipelines to cluster related customer accounts, and some machine learning for identifying duplicates. After a successful Pilot, the customer loved it and expanded the contract! Tech: Spark Cluster, lots of Java/Groovy, and a sprinkling of Scala.

full stack developer on Cyber security pilot - similar workflows to the above project but with a new client in the world of cyber security. This was less about building a product and move about finding security issues in the data we were provided to prove we could help the client. Lots of data integration work using both Python scripts for one off data dumps, and some Java in a Spark Cluster for automated data pipelines.

Full stack developer for a UK organisation - minimum details available. My focus was working on a large java codebase, writing data integration scripts in Groovy/Java, working with incredibly sensitive data and spending a lot of time modelling data to allow fine grained access controls to users.

~6 months
Full stack Java Developer: working in an internal dev team of 5, helping build and improve Palantir’s Gotham platform, specifically its proprietary top down analysis engine for big data.

Second developer at a 2 man startup. Primary focus on building a desktop application in Python, using similar technologies as Google Drive and DropBox desktop client.

Technology: Java(J2SE), networking, sockets, multithreading/concurrency, Intellij IDEA(IDE), Spring Dependency Injection, Swing(GUI), Git(VC).
Over the summer I worked from home on a multiplatform(Windows, Linux, Mac) print client which would connect to a central server receiving print jobs for specific printers. It would also report the status of printers and print-jobs to the server. An additional extension was added which monitors the current weight on digital USB scales and reports any changes in the weight to the server.
