Anyone else just get a WhatsApp from Amazon?

I hate it.

Don't get me wrong, I'm really excited about WhatsApp marketing. We offer it as a service and we've seen great results.

I just don't like this example. Here's why:

❌️ I wasn't expecting it. I don't remember agreeing to receive marketing from Amazon through WhatsApp. Maybe it was in some small print somewhere but I can't connect the dots.

❌️ Our view is that WhatsApp is for meaningful messages and conversation and providing good value. Not this.

❌️ "Great news Amazon is now on WhatsApp" - who is that line for? I'm not excited. You haven't given me a reason to be excited. It's only good news for Amazon (so far).

❌️ The offer is rubbish. 

HOWEVER, these things are true.

1️⃣ WhatsApp marketing is here.
2️⃣ If you aren't drawing up a plan, you'll fall behind.
3️⃣ Opportunities are huge for brands (and if done right, the upsides for consumers are huge).
