I just watched a 2.5 hour interview that changed how I see the next 3 years. And what he said should make every business leader stop and pay attention.

Here's the part that hit me hardest:

Right now, most sales orgs carry 50+ reps. Half of them miss quota. 

They grind through manual research, data entry, and admin work that has nothing to do with selling.

I've been there myself.

I used to wear exhaustion like proof I was committed. 70-hour weeks. Always on. Always grinding. I thought that's what it took to build Whale Boss while delivering for clients.

Then I hit a wall where I couldn't see what was obvious. I was making slower decisions. Recycling old ideas. Running on fumes and calling it discipline.

The moment I started treating rest as a STRATEGIC INPUT instead of a reward, everything changed.

My content got sharper. My client sessions got better. I started seeing patterns in AI implementation I'd been too fried to notice.

Think about Tom Brady.

He didn't become the GOAT by outworking everyone in the weight room. He became the GOAT by obsessing over recovery, nutrition, rest, and how he treated his body. While other quarterbacks were breaking down at 35, Brady played 4-5 years LONGER and at a HIGHER level than his peers.

That wasn't luck. That was a strategic decision to optimize for longevity and peak performance instead of brute force.

Revenue leadership is the same game.

They make pricing decisions with conviction instead of desperation.

Most people use short-form video to build their brand.

That's why most get views and zero calls.

Video is not a branding tool.

It's the closest thing to a sales call you can have with someone who's never heard of you.

Think about what happens when a video lands right:

They watch 60 seconds of you.
They hear how you think.
They feel whether they trust you.
They decide if they want more.

That's not branding.
That's selling.

But most people make videos about:

"My morning routine."
"5 mindset tips."
"Here's my story."

Nothing wrong with those.

Except none of them answer the one question every buyer is silently asking:

"Can this person solve my specific problem?"

The coaches booking calls from content aren't the ones with the best cameras.

They're the ones whose videos make the right person think:
"This is exactly what I needed to hear."

That's the difference between content that builds an audience and content that builds a business.

What would you add?

2 things need to happen in every video podcast clip:

1. It needs to target your ICP
2. It needs to drive a specific action

A lot of podcasters here post clips that get likes, but they don't attract their ideal clients.

Inversely, a lot of people post conversion-focused clips that nobody relates to, so they get zero reach.

Do both = you'll always grow the right audience.

I've fixed this for 100+ video podcasters already. Trust me when I tell you: ICP-first extraction is the real growth "secret".

Now go... extract clips your ideal client actually needs. 😊

Every other person on LinkedIn is now a "content creator for coaches."
But most cannot tell you the basics.

They will give you:

→ A recycled hook from someone else
→ The same format every coach is using

And call it a "content strategy."

But ask them:

❓ Why is your hook the only thing that determines if anyone watches?

❓ How does your video script speak to your buyer's exact pain?

❓ Why are your videos getting views but zero inbound leads?

Crickets.

They watched 3 YouTube tutorials.
Now they are charging you
to "manage your content."

Decoration ≠ content strategy.

Decorated content looks good.

Strategic content gets you:

→ Ideal clients finding you
→ Inbound DMs from warm prospects
→ Sales calls where they already trust you

Hundreds of them are out there right now.

Selling you pretty videos.
Calling it a client acquisition system.

Your short-form video content
is a trust building machine.

It should bring clients to you
while you sleep.

Not just look good on your feed.

would you trust someone who posts every day but says nothing real?

would you trust someone who never shares a take they'd actually defend?

would you trust someone who fills your feed with content that could've been written by anyone?

would you trust someone who never shows their face or uses their own voice?

would you trust someone whose content has no edges, no opinions, no specific point of view?

keep these things in mind, as you build your content strategy.

ai can post for you, it can caption for you, it will never offend anyone, it won't take a real position, it has no actual experience if any...

it feels like content in SO many ways

except some of the most important ones.

If your pipeline dried up tomorrow 

how long before you started panicking?

Be honest.

Most high-ticket coaches I talk to have the same answer.

2 to 4 weeks.

Because everything is riding on referrals showing up.

And referrals are not a system.

They are hope.

Hope that your existing clients mention your name.
Hope that someone in your network thinks of you at the right moment.
Hope that next month looks like last month.

Hope is not a pipeline.

The coaches who never panic 
during a slow quarter have one thing you do not.

Content that works while they are coaching clients.
Videos building trust while they are sleeping.

Inbound messages from people who found them through content,
not through someone's recommendation.

Their pipeline is not dependent on 
who happens to mention their name.

It runs on a system.

You are good at what you do.
Your clients get results.

But outside your referral circle,
nobody knows you exist.

That is not a skill problem.

When a podcaster does their own clips, things change.

Not because they're bad at it.

But because recording and clipping are different skills.

Podcasters think about:

• Making good episodes
• Asking good questions
• Content that feels right

Clip extraction needs:

• Knowing what converts
• Understanding platforms
• Reading data patterns
• Planning what to post when

Without both? Clips become random.
Targeting your ideal client? "Maybe later."
Posting with a strategy? "We'll figure it out."
Measuring what works? "If it goes viral, great."

Here's what happens:

The podcaster posts clips.
Nothing happens.
They post more clips.

Still nothing.
They think: "My content isn't good enough."

The real problem:

The content is fine.
The clip strategy isn't there.

I stopped telling clients "your content isn't working."

Because it's lazy feedback. It tells them nothing.

What does "aren't getting clients" even mean? 
Fix what exactly?

I mark the actual problem instead:

• Your hook is about you. Your viewer does not care about you yet. Start with their pain.

• You talked for 90 seconds before saying anything useful. You lost them at 8 seconds.

• This video has no clear point of view. You sound like every other coach on LinkedIn.

• You are describing what you do. Nobody cares what you do. Show them what changes for them.

• Three videos in and I still do not know who this is for. Pick one person and speak to them.

"Your content isn't converting" has become the coaching industry's version of "just post more."

Feels like a strategy but isn't.

If you are posting videos to get clients 
and your only feedback to yourself is 
"needs to be better" 

you have not identified what is actually broken yet.

Name the weakness. 
Be specific. 
Fix one thing at a time.

Videos do not convert from vague effort.

Do the harder work.

Find what is actually broken.

The real issue isn't that coaches need a new skill. It's that they've been sitting on a goldmine of content and calling the silence "professionalism."

What do people see when your video hits their feed?

That... is your content positioning. It's that simple.

You can analyze yours like this:

First step: 

Do they know what you do within 3 seconds? 
Do they know who you help? 
What do they feel after watching?

Second step: 

Do they come back for more? 
Do they send your clips to someone they know? 
Especially after just one video? 

If so, your content is working.

Now ask yourself these questions for real. Don't stop until you can answer each one clearly.

That... is your content positioning.
