I work with HVAC contractors who are tired of guessing with their marketing.

I’ve spent enough time inside HVAC businesses to see how this usually goes.
Money gets spent, but it’s hard to tell what’s actually working. Most of my work is fixing that mess.

I focus on Google Ads, Google Guaranteed Local Services Ads, Local SEO, Google Business Profiles, reviews, and follow-up. All of it tied together so traffic doesn’t hit dead ends.

I see HVAC owners doing their own marketing like this all the time. 

Posting on LinkedIn 
Going door to door
Waiting for referrals 

Result we notice? 
Nothing crashes. 
Nothing explodes. 

But every day, it costs them time, energy, and missed calls. 🥵 

That’s the dangerous part of DIY marketing. 
It fails quietly.

January always messes with my head when I look at HVAC businesses.

I can feel that itch most owners get.
Like… I should be doing something.
But not really knowing what that something is.

So I watch the same pattern play out.
I boost a post.
I try a new ad.
I tweak the website again.
I buy a batch of leads.
I mess with a few things at once just to feel productive.

And yeah, there’s activity.
A lot of clicking.
A lot of moving parts.

But not much actually changes.

What I’ve learned over time is January isn’t a great month for experiments.
At least not the random kind.

For me, January is more about tightening screws.

Reviews.
Website clarity.
Follow-up.
Local visibility.
Ad targeting that actually makes sense.

The boring stuff that makes calls more predictable later.

Most HVAC businesses I see don’t really need a brand-new strategy.
They already have too many half-working ones.

What usually helps is cleaning things up.
Cutting the noise.
Making fewer things work better.

I see HVAC owners often say

I’m spending money… but I’m not growing. 😐

I hear that all the time.

Every time I hear it, I already know what’s wrong.
It’s usually not the budget.
It’s direction. 🤦‍♂️

I see money spread everywhere.
Broad ads.
Random content.
No clear target. 🌀

Nothing breaks.
Nothing works either.

In my experience, money only starts doing its job when the goal gets specific.

Not more leads.
More booked calls.
From homeowners in the right area. 

January is when I like fixing this stuff.
Quieter.
Less chaos.
More room to tighten the machine. 

Once that’s done, growth stops feeling forced.

I keep seeing HVAC owners obsess over getting more leads. 

I used to think that way too.

But after watching this up close for a while, I don’t think most HVAC businesses need more leads first.
They need better conversion. 😐

I’ve seen companies get plenty of leads and still stay slow.
Phones rang.
Forms came in.
Quotes went out.

And somehow nothing moved.

Not because the leads were trash.
Because the process was.

Calls went unanswered. 📵
Forms sat there.
Follow-up happened days later.
Quotes were sent and never chased. 🤦‍♂️

Then the same sentence comes out:
“I think I just need more leads.”

But the leads already showed up.

What was missing was a system.
Or honestly… habits.

January is when I like fixing this stuff.
It’s quieter.
Less panic.
More room to build follow-up that actually sticks. 

If I had to pick one thing to improve this month, it wouldn’t be ads.
It’d be follow-up.

That one change quietly fixes a lot more than people expect.
