I was asked to lead the Dole VA supply chain service in December of 2017.

3 of the service's greatest achievements during my time in this role:

We scored in the top 5 in the country for our customer service.

The service reduced supply spend by 28%. Through spend analysis coupled with increased focus on inventory management principles and collaboration with vendors, we reduced spend drastically which allowed freed up resources to be allocated elsewhere as needed for Veteran care.

We did not run out of supplies including PPE for medical staff during the darkest days of the COVID pandemic for hospital supply chains. Leadership, great staff, including a very collaborative medical staff, and community support was crucial for this achievement.

Chief Supply Chain Officer

The Prosthetics service at the VA not only provides artificial limbs to Veterans, it is responsible for the management and issue to Veterans of all devices needed to assist Veterans to live as functionally as possible. This includes electric wheelchairs, wheelchair vans, orthotic shoes, canes, scooters, surgical implants and so much more. 

The service was unique in that it was a Veteran facing service with its Prosthetics and orthotics clinics and also a supply chain service managing and providing Prosthetic items.

Some of the service's greatest achievements during my time in this role:

Established a Prosthetics clinic. We recruited and retained a very talented Prosthetist who hit the ground running. Amputee Veterans now have an option right there at the Wichita VA for their artificial limb care and maintenance. 

Reduced average days before action was taken on a prosthetics consult dramatically. This was a big one for customer service and getting the Veteran's needs taken care of timely.

•	Champion technology; introduce self-service option to facilitate growth from 100 to 350 clients in four years and automate billing processes in Excel to expedite invoice processing.
•	Streamline records management; spearhead integration of payroll functions, migrating 150 clients from one system to another in three months.

Tulsa Inspection Resources Inc

Oversaw payroll processing, annual Worker’s Compensation audit, and SOX and payroll tax compliance for 1500+ employees in 45 states for a pipeline staffing company. Audited payroll each pay cycle and reconciled errors in ADP. Processed requests for tax changes and corrections, reconciled SUI and withholding problems, and disseminated W-2s and 1099s. Established internal controls to minimize exposure, wage liability, and union contract violations. 

Key Contributions:
•	Motivated and mentored team of nine; emphasized people development and fostered culture of empowerment to bolster morale and reduce attrition rates. 
•	Harmonized payroll functions; unified policies, processes, and systems to onboard three new companies after merger and ensured seamless transition from ADP to UltiPro as integral member of conversion team. 
•	Challenged payroll tax noncompliance findings to achieve cost-savings; reviewed regulatory findings, assessed fines, and requested abatements to recover $50K in penalties and interest from multiple states.

Strategized and executed account management plans for 20 multi-state clients, including 7 FEINs, 35 SUI, and 20 Withholding accounts. Introduced standard operating procedures to achieve compliance. Administered COBRA, reconciled bank transactions, processed weekly/bi-weekly/semi-monthly payrolls, and filed tax returns.

•	Drove process optimization; launched early electronic W-2 election program to reduce labor and printing costs, and designed HRPyramid client onboarding program. 
•	Provided exceptional client services; amended accrual table to reconcile PTO balances for 800 employees and reconciled past due amounts following short-term disability rate correction to garner $60K and $50K in savings, respectively.

Designed HR policies related to payroll, talent onboarding and offboarding, Worker’s Compensation, OSHA compliance, compensation planning, and benefits administration. Assisted with class action wage and hour lawsuit. Investigated complaints, determined validity and veracity of claims, and summarized findings. 

Key Contribution:
•	Applied data-driven, market-based approach to benefits administration; researched, analyzed, and synthesize industry data to restructure plan offerings that reduced costs without compromising quality.
•	Developed linkages across the company; liaised between payroll and accounting teams to resolve GL and journal entry discrepancies and explain variances. 
•	Promoted culture of empowerment; revamped employee recognition program, designed compelling promotional materials and coordinating activities for 1200+ staff members at over 20 hotels.
