RandomStorm is an award winning UK-based network security and compliance company, focused on providing enterprise-level, proactive security management products and services.  The company employs over 50 staff and turnover is approx. £3M.

Taking on the role of marketing manager my main remit was to refresh their marketing to ensure all online and offline communications were professional and engaging. I was responsible for the creation and implementation of a strategic marketing plan to undertake effective marketing activities that would reach their ideal client base.  Core objectives were to grow the brand and create an additional pipeline of opportunities for the sales teams, both of which were achieved within six months of the plan being launched.  This was achieved by utilising a range of channels including: events, webinars, email campaigns, digital marketing, PR and social media.

Altodigital is of one of the UK's leading independent office technology specialists with 10 regional offices across the UK and a turnover of £60M, employing 350 staff.  Covering a diverse portfolio from managed print and document solutions through to office supplies and furniture the markets in which the business operates are extremely competitive.  

As the head of marketing I took sole responsibility for devising and implementing the strategic marketing plan for the group.  The delivery of this strategic marketing plan based on analysis of the industry and target markets, assisted with overall growth from £32M to £60M turnover in tough economic conditions.  With the effective implementation of tactical campaigns to supplement the sales pipeline, generating 250 - 500 qualified leads per annum depending on activities undertaken. My role was extremely varied and involved the whole marketing mix incorporating online and offline channels to effectively promote and grow the business.  This was a highly visible senior role reporting directly to the board of directors, I was accountable for reporting on all marketing activity undertaken and providing detailed analysis on the return on investment against marketing spend using a range of metrics specific to each activity.  A highly acquisitive company, part of my role also involved integrating the purchased companies into the group brand and ensuring this was effectively communicated and marketed both internally and externally.

IRIS Software Group

Computer Software Group was acquired by Iris in 2007.  The company had regional offices across the UK, employing over 250 staff and a turnover of £28M prior to acquisition.

As marketing manager I was responsible for all marketing and communications for two flagship divisions of the group, covering ERP solutions and automated billing software.   A broad marketing role, I developed and implemented annual & quarterly marketing plans to foster new business opportunities for the sales teams, as well as client retention strategies for the account management teams.  The market was heavily sector driven and as a result I developed partnerships with key federations and governing bodies to help grow a presence in relevant target markets.  The role was heavily focused towards lead generation marketing campaigns and promotions both online and offline, alongside brand building activities in core target markets.
