GroupThreads

GroupThreads was a custom t-shirt company founded out of Austin, Texas by 3 University of Texas college students. T-Shirts are something that every organization buys hundreds of and we wanted to build a company that could deliver those in a much more innovative, easy, and efficient way! Over the lifetime of the company, revenues grew 200-500% every year as the company expanded. 

Besides general company leadership, I was responsible for 1) driving sales and revenue growth and 2) the design and construction of all versions of our company's software platform and website. 

Our software platform was comprised of two main products:

1. Proprietary e-commerce technology, which allows for organizations to gather orders individually through an "online campaign" which, after closing, will be custom manufactured for the entire organization. 

2. A "dashboard" where customers, campus managers and other account managers can get graphic design work completed using our designer matching technology (think Uber but for graphic designers), automatically get quotes, and manage online orders.

Ultimately the company ran into critical financial problems in the beginning of 2017. As of August 2017, company is in process of being acquired.

Did so well in the Southwestern sales program that I was brought back as a sales manager. Student sales managers at Southwestern face the challenge of working a 80 hour week while managing junior salespersons in the morning before work and the nights after. I managed up to four junior salespeople at a time.

Also, I had the greatest personal increase out of anyone in my organization. The second summer I increased my sales revenue by approximately 300% over that of my first summer.

This was my first sales position ever. I committed to working 80+ hour work weeks over the course of the summer to strive to learn the art of selling as quickly as possible. 

Learned much about things that lead to sales success such as time management, prospecting, closing, building trust with strangers, and connecting with people effectively in a short amount of time.
