OnBoard Programme

I was selected for one of 12 places to participate in the third cohort of the Onboard Programme.

OnBoard is a not-for-profit organisation set up to broaden the diversity of backgrounds and experience on all types of boards by skilling up and enabling talented individuals who are currently less likely to take on board roles. OnBoard works with individuals in the first ten years of their professional careers.

The programme includes
- Workshops on essential board topics, including the role of the board, legal and regulatory obligations, finance and strategy for board members
- Workshops on the board journey, including identifying individual strengths to bring to a board and the recruitment and application process
- Mentoring from an experienced recruiter
- Mentoring from an established board member

Assembly

Worked in an agile, multidisciplinary team to launch Assembly’s minimum viable product (MVP). I designed the MVP: a rules-based chatbot to send and test their CBT-based parenting tips.

A cross-functional role creating marketing and product content for Moody Month's hormone health programmes aimed at reducing fatigue, menstrual migraines, bloating, disturbed sleep and stress.

Designed and delivered workshops across the UK (online and in-person) to advocate for the value of interdisciplinary education and recruit students for the founding cohort at LIS.

Student Representative on the Fair Access and Participation Strategy Group
- Consulted with students at NCH to identify the barriers to access and participation at the college.
- Worked collaboratively to develop the policy and eligibility criteria for means-tested internship bursaries. In July 2020, five students were awarded bursaries.
- Secured funding for an External Speakers Fund to be used for embedding diversity and inclusion in college life.

- Facilitated workshops at NCH in conjunction with The Transformation Trust for students aged 11-14.
- Attended UCAS fairs and other student recruitment fairs across the UK, connecting with young people and identifying students that are well-suited to NCH.
- Published short blogs about specific aspects of university life such as accommodation, one-to-one tutorials, and exam revision on the Unibuddy app.
- Assisted the recruitment team with internal events such as Open Days, Interview Days, and Essay Competitions by welcoming students and parents to the college and answering questions.

- Researched prospective corporate partners and created detailed research documents to prepare the CEO and Corporate Partnerships Manager for meetings

- Learnt how to create, design, and publish a website in 6-weeks using Github as a collaborative platform. Evening classes provided an introduction to front-end web development using HTML, CSS, Github, JavaScript, Bootstrap, and jQuery.

- Identified the travel-related gig economy (i.e. Airbnb) as a key sector as a key business development opportunity
- Produced a detailed report about the sector and presented it to Senior Management. Used this research as the basis of my final year dissertation: Will the Sharing Economy Lead to the End of Employment?

I am a Content Designer (UX writer) and Conversation Designer with experience in user research and digital marketing. I am passionate about building new and innovative digital products. My superpower is my ability to simplify the language and content within a product to create a seamless user experience.

So far, I have worked at the London Interdisciplinary School – a university start-up – and helped build apps within the Femtech and children’s mental health space, respectively. I then joined Farfetch to develop my experience working in a bigger, more complex product team and now work at Depop!

I lead with empathy and research in my approach to content design, which allows me to create accessible products that meet user needs and collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams.
