Hey I’m Sam – a Social Media Director specialized in the health & fitness industry with nearly 10 years’ experience. 

Throughout my career I have been blessed to work with several leaders in the industry such as C4 Energy, Cellucor, XTEND, Legion Athletics, The National Strength & Conditioning Association, and more.  

One of my biggest learnings is that social media is…bigger than social media. Throughout my career I have had the opportunity to build and execute social-first campaigns and launches, crafted brands’ TOV and overall strategy, built memorable brand experiences at scale, led social campaigns and creatives with some of your favorite athletes and celebrities, launched and brought to life experiential events to the world on social, and so much more. 

More than anything I view myself as a strategist that lives on social and brings all facets of a brand to life through all strategic levers: brand messaging + strategy, content, creative, partnerships, channel strategies, commercial, experiential, and more.

For now, I’m just here to share a little piece of happy news with my small LinkedIn family.

This Monday, we welcomed our kutty baby girl into the world. 🤍

Some of you had already reached out with kind messages over the past few days, thank you for the warmth and wishes. It feels so special to receive love and blessings from people you really haven’t met or known. And a few others, messaged asking why I have been missing here on LinkedIn. 

The past few days have been a blur of emotions; gratitude, awe, exhaustion, and a kind of happiness that’s hard to put into words.

Life just added a beautiful new title to my list of roles: Amma. ❤️

So taking some time to slow down, soak it all in, and embrace this new chapter. ✨

Throwback to when I was 6 months pregnant.  
In the lift to a client meeting.

And I couldn’t help but think about a question I was once asked in an interview:

“So… what are your family plans?”

I wasn’t even married then.

What stayed with me wasn’t just the question, 
it was the assumption behind it.

That a woman’s ambition comes with an expiry date.  
That at some point, she might become a “risk.”

Today, as a founder, I see this from the other side.

And here’s the truth:

If you hesitate to hire women because of “what might happen” in their personal lives,  
you’re not protecting your company,   
you’re actually limiting it.

Some of the most resilient, efficient, and high-ownership professionals are women navigating real life alongside work.

The problem isn’t capability.  
It’s how workplaces are designed.

If your company can’t handle people having full lives, it’s not built for scale.

Maybe it’s time we stop asking women about their “plans”  
and start fixing how we build teams.

P.S: smiling as I see this picture and pat my back knowing I successfully navigated nausea and work for 9 whole months and knowing I’ll figure out this whole motherhood and work balance also. 🥰

Last week, I told my team I was taking a break.

My body genuinely needed it.
And I didn’t want to push it to March because right before the financial year ends, things usually get intense.

So I thought, okay, one quiet week.

But here’s what actually happened.

This same week that I was supposed to be on a break:

✅ We pitched to 4 new social media clients (2 of those are almost closing)
✅ Signed 2 new design projects
✅ Locked in a large photoshoot project

And I was fully involved in all of it.

Not because I planned to be.
But because sometimes the business needs you to show up.

From the outside, entrepreneurship looks like freedom.
Flexible schedules.
“Be your own boss.”

But in reality, it’s often the opposite.

The environment decides when you rest.
Opportunities decide when you show up.
And momentum doesn’t always wait for you to recharge.

You adapt.

That’s the real part of building something.

I’m still figuring out how to balance it better.
But one thing I’ve realised is that when things start moving, you can’t always pause the wave.

You just learn to ride it.

One more day before the month ends.

I sat down to review accounts today.

And realised something.

Out of all the invoices we raised in January, only three have been cleared so far.

And honestly, this isn’t a rant.
Just one of those moments that reminds you what running a service business actually looks like behind the scenes.

People often talk about growth, clients, campaigns, launches, and big wins.

But not enough people talk about cash flow.

Because the reality is:

👎🏽Salaries don’t wait.
👎🏽Office expenses don’t pause.
🥲Teams still show up and do the work.

And as founders, we quietly HAVE TO figure it out.

Over time, experiences like this start shaping something important:
You become very mindful about who you work with.

Not just brands that look good on a portfolio,
but people who respect timelines, communication, and payments.

Because good partnerships go both ways.

One thing building an agency has taught me:
The right clients don’t just grow your business , they stabilise it.

Cash flow discipline is Culture. 
For businesses and for clients.

And those are the ones I want to focus on more and more this year.

Still learning. Still improving our systems. Still grateful for the clients who do it right.
