Ever counted the REAL cost of Employee Burnout? 

Burnout is so often described as the "BLACK PLAGUE" of the 21st Century - it's insideous as it creeps up on us,  leading to high rates of sickness absence & other hidden costs for any Organisation (such as a loss of Employee Engagement, low morale across teams, and additional pressure placed on others due to a lack of resource)

Having witnessed "burnout" and the effects on employees at all levels in the workplace in my role as an HR Specialist, my background in Psychology/Counselling and Business Management. As well as having experienced it firsthand , I am passionate about working with Companies to do all they can, to counter and prevent it's harmful effects

I never thought I’d share my story, my “real” story on LinkedIn.  It’s easy to post about my work with startups or the children I helped with the non-profit I help start.   But this was all just external success.  It had nothing to do with what mattered …

It all shifted for me as I was coming out of a doctor's office and I heard myself thinking  “I hope I have cancer.”  Not in an “I hope I die sort of way,” but in an “I just can’t take this anymore” sort of way.

Just hearing that thought was a wake-up call.

When I heard those thoughts of self-destruction, I knew something had to change.   Doing and doing and doing for others, trying to get what was missing for me, wasn’t working.  I couldn’t live another 40 years this way.

And like in any great story a “fairy godmother” appeared.  … I’m not to going to tell the whole story here … you can read more in my book The Power of OUCH! if you like, but the point is that she spent a year, mentoring me on how to have amazing relationships.  With a partner, with family and friends, and even with myself.   

And started me on a journey around the country and across the world, learning more.

I wanted to find actual techniques to stop the suffering and keep it from building up.  “Detoxing” myself regularly from all the accumulated hurts and disappointments and upsets that are inevitable in any close loving relationship.  

So now I love to write and share with everyone what I found and let them experience the processes I learned and organized.
