Using the ADDIE model and working closely with SMEs, I created, developed, taught, and evaluated training for New-Hires, Loan Processors, Loan Officers, and Underwriters regarding processes, tasks, and use of software programs (Encompass, Supreme Insight, Supreme Docs, XDOC, IDS, Program Finder, etc.) using iSpring and Docebo.  I supported my small team in reviewing fellow colleagues' work, making sure our transition to bite-size training videos align with adult learning theory.  I also supported my manager directly with administration work, such as posting Continuing Education courses for Texas Real Estate Commission, and facilitating much like a producer on her live training classes to help keep learners engaged. I was hired, originally, to help transfer all facilitated virtual and in-person training into online, on-demand elearning. However, that never happened and instead the company decided to take a different approach by letting me go and seeking out the hiring of a mortgage subject matter expert to continue the rigorous demands of continuous, last-minute, in-person training by their numerous realtor offices all around the country.

A short-lived opportunity due to COVID-19 causing the company to make major staff cuts, but while there I analyzed, created, developed, and trained curriculum for internal staff and third-party call agents regarding the handling and knowledge of finance products, services, payments, and collections.  My primary line of instructional design work entailed the revamping of the Elastic Customer Service new-hire training via the practice of Andragogy, Behaviorism, Constructivism, and Connectivism Learning Theories.  I also assisted in writing and editing documentation of processes and ILT facilitator guides to accompany the Elastic curriculum.

I began at Sabre virtually training hotelier management and staff how to use the Sabre property management system (Synxis PM System v3)—teaching six courses with engaged training, assisted in the hotel property's install/cutover from their previous system, and followed up on any issues after the install to ensure their success.  However, when Sabre began developing a new property management system (SynXis Property Hub) product, I switched gears to support the Senior Instructional Designer by creating interactive, learner-centered, performance-based simulations using Adobe Captivate (including the Voice Overs).  Following the ADDIE model, I continued to do such work daily for this new property management system, as well as for the unified business travel solutions (Market Experience) and the new travel industry platform (SynXis Intelligent Retailing) products.  Additionally, I supported these products by writing job aids and the "Help" content.

I developed and maintained Instructor Led Training content—copy, presentations, photographs, visuals, and assisted in adapting pilot manuals and checklists into e-learning modules used in the classroom, briefing room, and iPad app—for CAE's global Business Aviation Training sector.

Under the Training Standards department, I was in charge of monitoring, entering, and reporting all NAA and OEM notifications regarding CAE aircraft on the global scale.  I was also in charge of creating and monitoring impact analyses for global CAE business aviation training through the new CMP program.  I assisted in working the back end of the EtQ program that houses our CMP process and the caebusinessjet.com site.  I monitored and reported all FAA approvals of CAE courseware change as well as all courseware related survey results.  I held the position of secretary of the Change Management Control Board and write the department newsletter.

Additionally, I assisted the Courseware team with updating and creating courseware materials - working in Storyline II, InDesign, and PowerPoint.

I took care of all clients' needs in person, via email, and/or via phone regarding store purchases, access to portal, downloading dropbox documents, obtaining hardback aircraft manuals and checklists, collecting fingerprints for TSA, resolving and reworking training schedule conflicts, and connecting clients to account executives, training managers, and travel assistance.  I wrote and edited all processes for the Client Services department as well as designed, ordered, purchased, and inventoried all items in the company store.

As an Instructional Designer and aspiring L&D Architect, I advocate for all things of the learner (neurotypical and neurodivergent); always pushing for clarity of communications and interactive learning opportunities to enhance skill and knowledge.  I structure, create, develop, and teach engaging curriculum (preferably through Microlearning) that helps adult learners build from their past experiences (Constructivism Theory, Cognitivism Theory), relate to their immediate present work (WIIFM, Adult Learning Theory, Connectivism Theory), and authentically assess their efforts so they align with meeting future goals.  

My academic background of a bachelor's in English: Creative Writing from Southern Methodist University, Technical Writing certification from the University of Texas at Arlington, master's in Communication Management from the University of Southern California, and Instructional Design and Technology MicroMasters certification from the University System of Maryland is the foundation in which my Learning and Development career as an Instructional Designer and Adjunct Professor has been built upon. And yes, I’m a Texas gal that went against the migration and replanted in SoCal.

I'm an ever-growing student of all things regarding the English language, communications, and teaching/learning.  I have taken on the challenge of serving the aviation/aerospace, technology, and financial industries—and presently taking on the challenge of serving the healthcare industry—all by refining their on-demand elearning, external and internal instructor led training and systems training content, and technical documentation.

Additionally, I have a small business, Letters and Marques, to which I transcribe audio (English and Spanish), translate documents (English/Spanish), record voice overs, edit and write copy/content, create elearning, and tutor (English).

When I'm not designing learning, I'm adamantly learning and applying all I can to manage my ADHD, working out, playing piano, and watching favorite shows/movies (MCU, The Martian, The Rings of Power, The Big Bang Theory, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, etc.)
