The Utrecht University Centre for Entrepreneurship (UtrechtCE) is constantly trying to nurture the Entrepreneurial Ecosystem of the university. In order to get real insights from the startup scene, we have invited entrepreneur Samir Saberi as Writer in Residence. His writings will cover the Dutch entrepreneurial ecosystem, bridging the worlds of entrepreneurs, academics and public policy.

During his time as Writer in Residence at UtrechtCE, Samir will collaborate closely with Erik Stam, Head of the Utrecht University School of Economics & Full Professor of Strategy, Organization and Entrepreneurship, to write a new book on Entrepreneurial Ecosystems. Samir Saberi will also work alongside other scholars from the centre to cover topics of interest for the Dutch startup ecosystem.

My mission in life is to clear the path for people. 

I do this by helping people and organisations to create the right environment for good decision making. 

As an advisor, mentor, consultant and former executive I have learned that our ability to facilitate good decisions is the biggest lever we have to improve the effectiveness of our teams and organizations.

My aim is to help others do the same. Get better at the most elemental and high impact level: decision making.

The Evolv weekend; A three day action-learning workshop which enables entrepreneurs and others to evolve their idea into product-market fit through the Lean Startup methodology. Raymond is an entrepreneur and university lecturer, living in Rotterdam (the Netherlands). As an experienced entrepreneur, a trusted boardroom advisor, and a seasoned investor, he has dedicated his career to harnessing the power of startups and organisations to promote positive change in the world.

In addition to that, he also enjoys coaching and sharing his knowledge with the next generation of leaders through his role as a university lecturer. He teaches entrepreneurship, Innovation strategy and emerging technologies.

And finally he is a co-founder and boardmember of Young&Bold, a foundation that provides education and personal development opportunities to refugees. The foundation's mission goes beyond the mere provision of education, they strive to create a welcoming and inclusive environment where refugees can feel empowered to be Bold and pursue their dreams and aspirations.

His energy comes from making people smile and from building innovative solutions for complex problems. He uses his varied background as a biologist, an entrepreneur, and strategist in advising several organisations and working with them to realise the key breakthrough needed.
