• Co-developed a micro-service architecture to enable operation of an eCommerce company including order fulfillment in distribution center, customer relations in call center and user-facing sales applications. 
• Evolved the DevOps to keep current with new technology. Including deploying to OpenShift and Kubernetes with CloudBuild and Github Actions. 
• Scaled and managed a team of remote software engineers to support continued improvement. 
• Drove Bigdelivery from onset until reaching 10000’s of clients and growing. 
• Doubled company revenue by pivoting to include to-business sales via extending credit and implemented necessary processes to keep default within acceptable limits.
• Initiated a key data driven decision of moving the main distribution center to a more central location lowering fuel costs and reducing delivery time.

• Senior researcher in the NeuroRobot project designed to assist a surgeon in performing brain tumor ablation inside an MRI machine. 
• Designed electronics for the MRI compatible robots to operate safely inside an MRI.
• Co-architected C++ firmware running on a real time OS to enable control of the robots.
• Customized MRI compatible piezoceramic actuators and their drivers to enable robot movement without affecting image quality or patient safety. Patent pending. 
• Developed deep reinforcement learning (RL) models to control rotation rate of tumor ablation probes. 
• Assisted in the design of an orthotic device to enable stroke victims suffering from hemiparesis or spasticity to regain partial function of their affected hand. Patent pending.

Scientific Researcher

• Implemented algorithms for decoding human subject intention based on real-time functional MRI of the brain.
• Developed a reusable LabView module to enable remote control  of rehabilitation robots in MRI.
• Designed and 3D printed parts that interface the human subjects with the hand rehabilitation robots.

• Implemented processes for the control of perishable stock reducing margin of errors by over 90%.
• Adjusted expense management leading to more appropriate reporting allowing for better expense control company wide. 
• Transitioned IT infrastructure to cloud (AWS) increasing software uptime.
• Installed business intelligence tools to make actionable data available to company leadership.

I bring value to companies by developing software that address real needs with a positive ROI and a focus on everything tech. 

Founding my first startup in my early twenties gave me an early exposure to what it takes to build a profitable business. My academic career culminating in a PhD in Robotics Engineering gave me the tools I need to build that which I envision. My experience working in 4 countries (the United States, Brazil, England and Switzerland) taught me that there are diverse ways to solve any one problem.
