I have to say, The Worshipful Company of Marketors are so good at all that, as I experienced at The Installation dinner this week. 

Saying farewell to our outgoing master Julian Boulding and welcoming in David Elmer as our new master. Also welcoming April Cowen as our new clerk.  

It was great to spend time with
Kevin Harris , Jarmila Yu, CMktr DipM FCIM FIDM MCIPR, Annie Brooks, Martin Ashton and Peter Rees  among others. 
 
Sadly I didn’t take many photos as I was too busy enjoying the moment, but here’s a flavour of the beauty and grandeur at Painters Hall. Oh, and apparently I broke the rules by showing my shoulders! 😳

DSMN8 - The Employee Advocacy Platform asked me for my thoughts on their latest report: The World's Biggest Employee Advocacy Study.  

It’s a very comprehensive piece of work with some illuminating findings; two of which stand out for me. 

Personal content gets 9% more engagement than company page curated posts.

That’s 9% more eyes on your company page content by empowering your employees to post on LinkedIn. 

=>> Companies should build more “people-led” content into the mix.

Not every post, but even 1/3 with a personal angle will lift engagement across ALL company content.

=>> Biggest surprise: the highest engagement rates come from employees with 5,000 to 10,000 connections.

That’s such a good takeaway for leaders and teams who think they need “influencer numbers” before it’s worth showing up.

This is a great incentive for my clients to build their following, and hopefully it will inspire you to do the same!

Here’s some LinkedIn maths for you.
You’ve probably heard the stat that companies can increase their LinkedIn reach by 561% when employees share content authentically.

But let's take it back a step, what does that actually mean in real life?

A 561% increase means you’re not adding a tiny bit on top. You’re multiplying the outcome.

If your company page post reaches 1,000 people…

=>> Up to 561% more reach could equate to 6,610 people seeing the same message.

1,000 + (561% of 1,000) = 1,000 + 5,610 = 6,610

The interesting part is not the number.

It’s why it happens.

When a real person shares something with even a line of context, it lands differently. It feels like insight, not an announcement.

Credibility, not “content”.

That’s trust at work, and in 2026 trust is the shortcut people use to decide who to pay attention to.

I hear this a lot - and it was reinforced in a meeting I had yesterday. 
Things like: 

'LinkedIn is full of rubbish'
'It's becoming too self-promotional'
'LinkedIn is too 'business-y'

It doesn't have to be like this; LinkedIn can be a great place to hang out, meet interesting and relevant people and, of course, begin business transactions.

It's all about how you behave on the platform. 

In the words of Richard van der Blom on his post TODAY in fact: 

"Posts from accounts you regularly engage with get 3.2x more visibility than random viral content. A smaller, highly relevant niche network now outperforms a large but disengaged one. For reach AND lead quality."

What you put in is what you get out. 

So create a strategy around your LinkedIn activity. Be intentional, proactive and organised and you can actually begin to not only ENJOY being here, but you can also start to get business!

My key responsibilities included: 
•	Influencing and offering recommendations to Director to improve regional results and working practices. 
•	Preparing regional KPIs, analysing and collating management prints, influencing and challenging regional performance on behalf of Director.  
•	Drafting all strategic business documents on behalf of Director to present to Executive Board. 
•	Extensive HR admin support for Director and HR Business Partner. 
•	Supporting the budget planning process and monitoring regional costs/expenses to deliver agreed savings. 
•	Event Management and supporting Change Management.

Assistant to Sales Director

I was the Divisional Co-ordinator and also provided PA/secretarial support to the Creative Divisional Director and Heads of Function.    

My key responsibilities included: 
•	Co-ordinating budget planning, monitoring costs & expenses against budgets, and delivering savings at year end.  
•	Drafting all divisional strategy and business documents for Director and Heads of Function.

I was the sole secretarial support to the Director of Distribution & Logistics, and Heads of function and divisional team. 

My key responsibilities included:
•	Extensive diary, telephone and email management for the Director and Heads of Function.
•	Weekly minute taking at Executive Board meetings, Divisional and team meetings.
•	Preparation of strategic PowerPoint presentations for Executive Board meetings.

I provided 1:1 PA support to the Sales Director of a UK fashion company responsible for designing, manufacturing, wholesaling and retailing women’s fashion.

My key responsibilities included:
•	Event management and marketing support for direct mail campaigns, brochures, and fashion photo-shoots.
•	Preparation of seasonal press releases and liaison with trade and consumer press to gain exposure.
•	Event Management for monthly conferences/retail seminars, seasonal trade exhibitions and fashion collection launches.
•	Relationship management with foreign agents, suppliers, directors, and influential external retail heads.  
•	Assisting the Sales Director with weekly analysis of sales figures and compiling weekly company reports.

PA to Sales Director

BLD INTERNATIONAL FASHION AGENCY LIMITED

I was the UK and Ireland Account Co-ordinator for the 2 divisions of the MaxMara Fashion Group

My key responsibilities included: 
•	Customer service liaison for c. 200 UK and Ireland wholesale buyers
•	Daily email and telephone correspondence with Italian head office counterparts
•	Monitoring account statements and providing credit control support to Financial Director
•	Management of the clothing sample inventory
•	Event Management of Fashion shows and Showroom Sale Events
