I spent 3 years selling to SaaS companies.
Clean CRMs. Defined ICPs. Short sales cycles.

Then we started working with manufacturing and ERP companies.

Everything I knew about B2B sales broke.

The decision maker isn't on LinkedIn.
He's on the factory floor.
He doesn't read emails.
He picks up the phone.

The buying committee isn't 2-3 people.
It's the owner, the accountant, the floor manager, and sometimes the owner's brother.

The sales cycle isn't 30 days.
It's "let me think about it" for 4 months, then a WhatsApp message at 11pm saying "let's start Monday."

Here's what we learned the hard way:

1. Cold calling works better than any digital channel for manufacturing. Not because they're "not tech-savvy." Because they're busy building things with their hands and don't have time to scroll.

2. WhatsApp > Email. Every time. Not even close. These are people who run their entire supply chain on WhatsApp groups.

3. The first call isn't about selling. It's about understanding their pain in their language. "ERP" means nothing. "Stop losing money on inventory" means everything.

4. You need humans, not just AI. Manufacturing buyers want to talk to a person who understands their world. AI can qualify. But humans close.

We used to think B2B sales was one playbook.

It's not.

Every vertical has its own language, rhythm, and rules.

The companies that figure this out first win the pipeline.
Everyone else just has a nice deck nobody reads.

when I tell people this, they're surprised. "how do you get talent?" "how do you serve clients across India?"

8-10 SDRs in our Kolkata office. rest are pan-India, fully remote.

here's what nobody tells you about managing SDRs at scale:

44% churn in one month. 18 out of 41 gone.

I'll translate that for you.

"we don't trust our own product enough
to pay someone to sell it.
so we want you to take that risk instead."

that's what revenue share actually means.

let me tell you what happens
every single time.

ed-tech company. 8 months ago.
"just get us meetings, take 15% of revenue."

our SDR booked 42 qualified meetings in 3 months.
their sales team closed 3.

why?

47-minute demos.
no pricing page.
6 days to send a proposal.

We earned ₹11,000 total.
for 90 days of work.
she quit.

they blamed us for "bad leads."

here's the pattern I see
after 50+ clients and 120+ SDRs:

companies that pay fixed cost?
they fix their demo after week 2.
they ask "why aren't these converting?"
they actually care about the feedback.

companies on rev share?
"if it works, cool. if not, we lost nothing."

except you lost 6 months.
and the person selling had zero reason
to tell you your pitch was broken.

the dealer model works because
the dealer bets their own money

you're asking me to bet my team's time

most sales/marketing teams start their day checking 6 different tools.

gmail. slack. CRM. calendar. whatsapp. invoicing.

by the time you've pieced together what's actually happening across your accounts, half the day is gone. and the worst part — the same client showing up as "frustrated" in whatsapp, "escalation" in slack, and "stale deal" in your pipeline gets treated as 3 separate problems.

it's one problem. you just couldn't see it.

i built a system where 5 AI agents scan all of these simultaneously every morning. gmail, 2 slack workspaces (22+ channels), active deals, calendar, pipeline, invoices, whatsapp client groups, even unprocessed meeting recordings.

but the scan isn't the interesting part.

what happens next is. the system cross-correlates across agents. if the same client appears in whatsapp (RED sentiment), slack (escalation), and deal pulse (stale proposal) — it merges into one client hotspot. not 3 line items in 3 different reports.

one unified signal. with the actual client quotes attached.

the output isn't a dashboard. it's a prioritized briefing: client hotspots first, then meeting prep with context for each call, then pipeline, then everything else.

the teams that win in sales/marketing won't be the ones with the most data. they'll be the ones that correlate signals fastest and act before the client has to follow up twice.
