That's me, and that's why I'm here spreading my love for effective product development with Scrum and other proven techniques that work within the Scrum framework.

And how am I spreading this love?

In a variety of ways, but the one I'm most proud of is my recently published Scrum Master Certification Guide. It's a real book, over 200 pages long and available in both hardcover and softcover on Amazon.

The feedback and reviews have been great so far, and it really warms my heart when I get messages from people telling me it helped them learn Scrum, get Agile and of course, gain a coveted PSM, PSPO or CSM designation.

I'm also very active on Twitter and YouTube.

I'm up above 250,000 followers on Twitter, and I think I've posted close to 100 videos about DevOps, cloud computing, Java programming, Python development and of course Agile and Scrum on my YouTube channel.

I've also been honored to work as a developer advocate with incredible and amazing companies including:

It's honestly quite humbling to be associated at all with such amazing leaders in the industry.

Is it ethical to use an #LLM to write your LinkedIn post and not mention its role?

Do you use LLMs to write for you?

Do they suck?

I have never used an LLM to help me write a post on LinkedIn in any capacity whatsoever.  Not coming up with ideas.  Not helping me edit or refine it.  Not coming up with a schedule.  Nothing.

There's a few reasons for this:

One is, I like writing and think I'm ok at it.  This is not a skill I want to atrophy.  Even though an LLM technically could write a lot of the post for me, I don't want to cede the skillset over to it.

(Incidentally, I think AI generated writing usually is mid at best.  It's abstract, predictable, boring, and just kind of sucks.  I'd much rather read bad human writing than the milquetoast corporate-speak that comes out of LLMs talking about synergy and leadership colliding or whatever.)

Two is, as more AI generated material shows up, I think people crave posts that sound like a human being.  Spelling and grammar errors included.  I've noticed my impression numbers going up the past few months, and I'm not doing anything different.

Three is, I think it's unethical to present someone else's material as your own without crediting them.  This is true for me whether it's an #AI or a human behind it.

On that last bit, you might be thinking that there are some significant grey areas when it comes to LLMs.

For example, we don't usually give credit to spell checkers or proofreaders, and that's because the content is largely our own.  The tools are helping to polish it up.

With LLMs, you can have this weird liminal area.

For instance, you might write an outline of a post and generate the post with an LLM.

The thoughts, structure, and arguments are yours, but they are expressed in something else's words.  Imagine doing this activity with human being for instance.  Would you credit them?

Personally, I just don't want to mess with that.  I don't want to give any false impressions of my own thoughts and abilities, nor do I want to claim another's efforts as my own in any respect.
