Over a 20-year journey at Homesite, I played a key role in transforming the company into a nationally recognized leader in digital insurance. I led large-scale initiatives across product, technology, operations, and strategy — helping Homesite become one of the first insurers to sell homeowners insurance fully online and later expand into innovative small commercial offerings.

Highlights:

Built the first end-to-end online home insurance platform, enabling customers to quote and buy in a single session — a first in the industry.

Transformed back-office operations through automation, outsourcing, and simplification — delivering a 4–6% cost advantage.

Launched strategic partnerships with national brands like Progressive, including fully integrated bundled home/auto solutions.

Conceptualized and built the first online P&C rating engine capable of binding policies directly over the internet — a major milestone in digital insurance.

Introduced an innovative use of a database management system to store rating and underwriting rules, marking a first in the industry.

Developed a multi-line, multi-carrier web-based policy transaction platform — enabling agents to provide comparative quotes, underwrite, and issue policies at the point of sale via secure web access.

Raised over $110M in venture and institutional capital, leveraging the platform’s innovation and market potential to fuel growth and expansion.

Agency Management Systems

I spearheaded the successful conversion of a DOS-based Insurance billing system into a more advanced client-server architecture. This conversion involved migrating major billing functions such as Payroll Deduction, Account Billing, Agency Bill, Commissions processing, Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT), and Credit Card Processing to the new system.

Additionally, I came up with the concept of an image-based tab system, which proved to be highly effective and efficient. This innovative tab system was later adopted by AMS as their enterprise platform, further validating its value and impact in the industry.
