Yuri Education Center is an independent educational institution dedicated to promoting active learning methods. Students are immersed in a dynamic learning environment where they gain proficiency in science, sustainability, and English. They are encouraged to identify pressing issues, set achievable goals, and proactively implement solutions. Since sustainability topics are relatively new in Japan, many students lack sufficient exposure to the subject. 

Yuri holds experiential studies and in-depth academic discussions around the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). To further enrich the learning experience, she regularly invites seasoned sustainability practitioners and esteemed professors who share invaluable insights, practical knowledge, and the latest industry updates with her students. Moreover, Yuri puts emphasis on engaging in workshops and fieldwork beyond academic studies to observe the sites, understand the reality, listen to people’s voice, and become successful leaders in society. Her sandal project is a signature project. Durable and fashionable sandals are made from used motorcycle tires and clothes. 

To make each project successful and achieve SDGs, global initiatives, creative thoughts, and responsible actions are required. Through these endeavors, her students cultivate a sense of purpose, bolster their confidence, and develop a heightened global awareness that resonates with diverse audiences, communities, and the wider public.

1. Subjects: All students need to learn both liberal arts and sciences as core subjects. Our school focuses on teaching several languages and preparing for entrance exams (junior high schools, high schools, and universities) and qualification exams such as TOEFL, IELTS, Eiken, TOEIC, and SAT.  
2. Our focus: Students need to work on several projects, submit research papers, and make presentations in each term. Some classes are held in English, and other classes are held in Japanese. Active participation and frequent group discussions are required to develop social skills as well as academic skills.
In addition, our school encourages the students to organize events and activities related to SDGs. The students learn how to achieve the results while carefully doing environmental research, finding their own solutions, making presentations, and taking proper actions.

In addition to giving medical and food assistance, our mission is to provide educational help by holding our original classes in lower-income communities and encouraging the people to acquire knowledge and become self-reliant. We have been offering cross-border educational programs to anyone who wishes to study including street children, people in refugee camps, and child soldiers. Also, we have taken actions to protect people from natural disasters. We established a disaster prevention school in Goma, DR Congo in 2021 after the volcano eruption to teach them how to deal with disasters. By bringing peace and happiness, we will create a sustainable future.

In "Yuria’s Happy English program", parents and children, aged 4 months to 3 years, enjoy learning English songs and sustainability topics. I read books about animals, sea creatures, and nature. I also empower women especially mothers who have small children.
Students aged 4 to 23 learn math, science, and social studies in Japanese and English. Students aged 8 and above participate in sustainability classes, discussions, presentations, and workshops. I regularly conduct workshops of SDG 12 "responsible consumption and production." Each student selects and presents their own topic.
In Zoom sessions, I invite sustainability practitioners, professors, and industry leaders, and encourage students to confidently communicate with people from around the world. I conduct experiential studies and in-depth academic discussions on the 17 SDGs.
