Something about the job market right now feels… off.

The resume black hole keeps getting deeper.

You apply for roles you're qualified for, sometimes even overqualified for, and your application disappears into a system that often feels designed to filter out people instead of find them.

Then there's compensation.

Companies want 10 to 15 years of experience. Leadership. Cross functional knowledge. Startup mentality with enterprise polish.

And somehow the salary band looks suspiciously close to 3-5 years experience.

But the part that's hardest to understand is how normalized recruiter ghosting has become.

A recruiter reaches out.
You have a good conversation with mutually agreed next steps. 
Maybe you go through multiple interviews.

Then suddenly… nothing.

No update.
No "we went another direction."
No "the role changed."
Just silence.

I understand hiring is complicated. Priorities shift. Budgets change. Roles evolve.

But communication shouldn't be the thing that disappears.

Behind every resume is someone trying to figure out their next step, support their family, and build a career they're proud of.

Some days it makes me pause and ask myself:

Why do I stay in the corporate world again?

Maybe it's the opportunity to build things at scale.

Maybe it's the people we meet along the way.

Or maybe it's because we still believe the system can work a little better than it does today.
