News Inc has worked with most of South Africa's leading food and non-food franchise companies creating an international footprint by securing Master Franchisees in MENA region, China and Southern Africa. Fx Consulting provides an A - Z service (SBP, Financial Model, Marketing Plan, Pitch Deck, Executive Summary, Private Placement Memorandum, etc) raising funds for start-ups as well as sourcing funding for bespoke projects within mining, agriculture, education, hospitality and maritime sectors. Since 1984 I have dedicated myself to the global yachting industry and have developed an acute understanding of every facet of the industry including but not limited to: Yacht Design, boat building, yacht charter, yacht management, yacht brokering, yacht syndication and quite simply...everything yachting! During the year 1984, shortly after leaving school and after his stint at compulsory military training in South Africa,      I formed Marine Syndicate Management Systems (MASMAS) and started building 57’catamarans designed specifically for the global charter market. Boats were sold as a currency hedge investment providing a platform for South African investors to legally externalize their wealth. In its simplest form, invest in South African Rands and earn in United States Dollars via charter income. MASMAS evolved into Alpha Abacus Maritime, a British Virgin Islands based company that during the years 1989 – 2005 amassed a fleet of 76 yachts that operated in the Caribbean. The company made two acquisitions by purchasing an established charter brokerage and a clearing house, thereby adding a further 66 boats to the fleet and boasting 142 yachts in total. I sold the business in 2010.
