There are 3 chapters in my life. 


And clearly the last is the most exciting. 

The first chapter was about school, engineering college and B School. The boring precision of academic monotony was broken by meeting my best friend - Subhajit - who later became my husband. 

The second chapter was about banking - in ANZ Grindlays and Standard Chartered. I loved banking. But I was tired of being a small decimal point in a global bank and delighted to be part of building a new bank at IDFC - where I was the fourth employee to be hired. The best part of this chapter, though, was welcoming our daughter, Proteeti. 

The third chapter in my life is about aspiration. 

Building Aspire For Her has been the most fulfilling part of my career. When we launched, I drew a line in the sand - of adding a million women to the economy by 2025, 10 million by 2030. 

Every day we are a little closer to unleashing the trillion dollar potential of our country. I am grateful to meet some of the most inspiring leaders in the country and play a small role in stories of courage and resilience - women who make us proud every day.

Aspire For Her had been nominated for the 𝐁𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐭 𝐍𝐢𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐚𝐧 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝 at the Making India Employable Conference & Awards - MIECA 2025!

Then I saw the jury: Dr. R.A. Mashelkar, Roma Balwani, Chenraj Roychand, Dr. Siddharth Pai… and the disbelief slowly turned into pride for the movement we’re building.

It was surreal to see the one and only Mohandas Pai walk up on the same stage to receive his Lifetime Achievement Award. 

But the most emotional moment for us?

Receiving the award from Dr Anil  (D) Sahasrabudhe, former Chairman of All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), and one of our earliest believers, who partnered with us long before anyone knew our name. 

The MIECA platform is special because it acknowledges a truth we all live with:

 • everyone wrings their hands, saying our graduates aren’t employable
 • educational institutions work incredibly hard
 • corporates try their best to bridge the gap

 …yet the twain rarely meet.

MIECA is one of the few genuine efforts to bring thought leaders from both sides onto the same table - with honesty, insight, and shared purpose. Thank you, Shantanu Rooj, Kavita Rooj, Jaideep Kewalramani, and TeamLease Edtech team for creating a bridge over the tears of unfulfilled dreams. 

And a special mention to Roma Balwani, who moderated one of the finest panels I’ve ever witnessed: sharp, warm, and deeply grounded, featuring Prasanth Nair, Vinkesh Gulati, Prof. Satyakam, and Dr. Sahasrabuddhe.
