Would you withhold Netflix from yourself just because there are a couple of dishes in the sink?

You’re not that anal.

So imagine feeling as much ease about work.

Because his body isn't used to being less busy.

And yes, there's stuff to do—but they're doing well enough as a team that *he* no longer needs to do so much.

Entrepreneurs, if you're going to live the dream that led you here: 

At some point, you accept that a to-do list is not meant to be done.

It's a fact of life, like laundry or dishes.

And then your work is no longer just the work you do for money.

It's helping your nervous system to upgrade as much as your business has, and allowing yourself to enjoy what you built.

Women, your self-critical thoughts are the *least interesting* thing inside your head.

After all, everyone else has the same ones.

Having spent the last five years coaching both men and women, I assure you, though—YOU are interesting.

I get a kick out of introducing myself as a hypnotist.

People react like I've said I turn water to wine. 

Shock and awe.

Hypnosis is actually simple.

Through words, felt sense, imagery and something like guided meditation I can change your neural pathways.

But that wide-eyed reaction, that wonder—is wholly justified. 

Didn't Albert Einstein suggest that either nothing is a miracle, or everything is?

It so is.

This life is magic. 

And the way your mind bends reality is the best part. 

(LOTS happening subconsciously—which is the level we play on in hypnosis.) 

So YES, get excited if you meet a hypnotist.

Because that person knows that YOU are a magician. 😉

📸 - sunrise at Red Rocks & the only thing I wear in fall 🧸

Early on in my coaching business, it would have been easy to lean on 'empowering women' as a trope for attention. 

I personally don't have overt stories of misogyny from my tech days, so it never felt authentic.

After enough time on LinkedIn, though, I get it.

I've had overt challenges from men. (Not in good faith.)
And covert advances.

Speaking up here has led me to look at how much I've actually worked to be taken seriously in male-dominated environments.

It's made me aware of subtle ways I've suppressed my personality to do that.

Just recently, I've begun to awaken to the fact that being me:

→ playful/silly/'feminine'
→ trusting in my intuition
→ into astrology & esoteric systems

...is its own form of power.

I've finally begun to own that my clients LIKE when I'm less serious.
Or when I go off-script. 

And that my intuition has led to every amazing turn of events in my life.
Every great business upswing. Etc. 

My favorite trend of the last five years is women in corporate meetings talking about their moon signs. 🌙

And I think there is both a desire and a need for 'the feminine' to be more expressed at work.

Not just via girl talk and astrology.

But in real, rooted ways that can help us to change what's not working in business and capitalism.

I am now actually feeling the pull to speak more to women.

(Selfishly, too - I have *loved* every coaching conversation I've ever had with a woman because of how much we can feel)

Even though change is not just about more *women* in leadership—

I know what it's like to be a woman and wonder if I'm valuable in spite of XYZ (which would never occur to a man!)

Even if you're soft-spoken, or in debt, or looking your age—or any other condition that's led you to question.

Dreams aren't silly. 

Please take the pressure off yourself to be exceptional before you can pursue yours!

And don't tell me that opening a pizza shop wouldn't be "respectable enough" if that's where you felt pulled.

You'll find the most success in the lane that's whispering to YOU.

I notice people are upset about impressions tanking.

(Unless you change your gender to a man, in which case I hear they go up again.)

I think this is giving away your power.

Here's what's had an impact on my business recently:

→ Being more truthful
→ Making risky-but-feels-right decisions
→ Adding new offers for current clients

All intuitively guided decisions.

Part of my promise to myself to put what's important, above what's obvious. 

Actually, when I look back - the year I had the best social media performance to date was my lowest year in revenue. 

I don't love how the algorithm or the corporations behind them operate.

But they don't make or break me.

Money absolutely makes you happy when:

→ You do work you love.
→ You love who you are while doing it.
→ You do good for others, too.

Now all of that takes work—

And it's just the kind of sweat equity I'm here for.

How to stay grounded in the holiday season 👇

These tips are perhaps obvious.

But I know that sometimes the only reminder my clients get is in their hour with me.

So here’s a refresher:


1. Remember you’re not the only one overwhelmed.

When stressed, our focus narrows—and it feels like we are uniquely struggling.

That makes it harder. So give yourself and others grace knowing we’re all in it together.


2. Your breath can regulate stress. Use it.

My favorite grounding breath is to exhale longer than you inhale.

Bonus points for a humming sound.

(Both down-regulate us.)


3. Do a morning and evening sweep of your inbox.

This will just signal to your body that you’re on top of things—so there’s no need for extra anxiety.


4. Lean into the magic of the season. 

Be generous, with your words if nothing else. Speak kindly, focus on gratitude.

Don't let all the advertising make you shopping-obsessed. It's about what you have, not what you lack.

Anyone else trying to detox from social? (Again?)

It’s wild how hard it is to enjoy a book when your brain’s all hopped up from apps.

About ~20 minutes into reading last night—roughly the time required to focus—I had this thought:

“Wow, isn’t it amazing how many millions of worlds authors have created for us to escape into when the internet and the real world are too much?”

Went from “meh, reading” to “wow, reading!!!” real fast. 

Anyway, give me your tips on staying away from social? 

Or better—some good reasons to do so 😬
