I somehow navigated through each challenge on my own, but it certainly wasn’t easy. After my last transition, I considered hiring a career coach. Clinical Supervisor

School of Social Policy & Practice at the University of Pennsylvania

Provide professional instruction and supervision to social work students who lack access to resources at field placement site. Meet weekly with students and lead virtual bi-weekly group meetings. Observe student behaviors, practices, and competencies. Review process recordings and regularly communicate with students’ agency task supervisors assess progress. Ensure completion of semester learning agreements and field evaluations.

Bryn Mawr Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research

Teach up to two classes per semester with up to 25 students per course, including adult learners. Designed courses incorporating diverse learning styles and fostering diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) across complex concepts in substance use, clinical foundations, brief treatment and human behavior in social environment. Utilize interpersonal group dynamics, teambuilding, and mentorship techniques to foster inclusive learning environments, both in-person and virtually.

Adjunct Faculty

Selected to facilitate Wellness pilot program, CONNECT, training graduate-level social workers within curriculum based on Jones and Okun’s White Supremacy Culture in Institutions. Emphasized importance of anti-racist, anti-oppression practices in professional and educational settings. Assisted with curriculum design and program evaluation, assessing strengths, barriers, and weaknesses of content.

Graduate CONNECT Cohort Facilitator 

Served as field liaison and course lecturer for first-year MSW foundations class. Designed lessons  incorporating diverse learning styles and fostering diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) across complex concepts in clinical foundations, brief treatment, rapport building, use of self, ethics, and documentation. Utilize interpersonal group dynamics, team building, and mentorship techniques to foster inclusive learning environments, both in-person and virtually. Built and maintained ongoing relationships with field placement agencies for each student facilitating semester placement visits and assisting in conflict management/ problem solving as needed.

Delivered therapeutic services in substance use and residential treatment areas, operating within person-centered, holistic, attachment-informed framework while adapting to evolving best practices. Navigated complex interrelated systems and engaged key stakeholders to negotiate treatment pathways. Provided large-group educational programming for up to 60 clients across topics such as coping skills, conflict management, neurobiological mechanisms of change, somatic therapy, mindfulness, cognitive behavioral therapy, and addiction/substance abuse.

•	Served female youth ages 12-16 with a history of abuse, mental illness, addiction, or neglect including curriculum development, project management, and team building 
•	Co-designed and facilitated classroom curriculum; developed partnership with Hands Across the Sea and local patron Sandals Halcyon to refurbish school library; created curriculum for socio emotional learning 
•	Led volunteer meetings, facilitated team building activities, and initiated welcoming and supportive programming for newly arriving volunteer cohorts

Community Development and Education Specialist

Partnership Against Domestic Violence

•	Promoted from volunteer to crisis line advocate within three months
•	Completed crisis line screening and assessments during high volume call hours to determine eligibility for admission and coordinate necessary referrals 
•	Performed efficiently and independently in a high-pressure environment while running high-security safe house facility managing living space for up to 40 women and children
•	Liaise with law enforcement and local agencies to respond to crisis and support incoming residents
•	Creation of individualized safety planning for all crisis line callers and program participants
•	Trainer for incoming crisis line volunteers

Crisis Line Advocate | Program Management 

Hi! My name is Christina. I am a licensed clinical social worker with over 12 years of experience in community and behavioral health in the US and abroad. I am currently licensed to practice independently in PA, FL, and OH. I am also an educator and professional development leader--pursuing my PhD as a doctoral candidate at the Bryn Mawr Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research. 

I received an MSW from the University of Pennsylvania in 2017, where I was selected for a competitive PEARLS Fellowship, a Program in Mental Health Education Assessment, Recovery and Leadership for Social Workers. From 2013-2015 I served in the Peace Corps as a community development volunteer in the Eastern Caribbean where I also provided leadership as the Volunteer Advisory Council (VAC) representative for the island of St.Lucia. 

I am passionate about mentorship and education of my fellow social workers-- with a long history of guest lecturing, course instruction at the graduate level, professional development facilitation, providing supervision, and integrating DEIB frameworks. I am committed to developing inclusive and equitable pedagogical practices in higher education and organizational models with an emphasis on the role of belonging, safety, and trauma in learning theories.
