I first got into fitness and health when I moved to the U.S., 

I saw lots of gyms and heard lots of lots of people constantly going and being active, and other than walking around a lot in Ireland I was never really active.

I thought this was something I wanted to start so 5 years ago I joined my first gym and joined classes, I loved it. 

I saw results after 8 weeks and felt great, but I wasn’t dedicated. 

I was a teenager and wanted to go have fun. 

Social media brings such a pressure on what your body should or shouldn’t look like and how you should cut out almost every food group and be thin.

I followed these fad diets, and began developing a bad relationship with food. 

I would constantly skip meals, maybe having one small meal a day, and was obsessed with being as light as I could be. 

I dropped 12lbs in about a month, became underweight yet still felt fat. I was depressed, unhappy and had no energy to workout or achieve the body I actually wanted. 

I continued this cycle for years of trying the gym, losing motivation, bingeing food, then guilt starving myself. 

So, I had to go through a journey of learning to love myself and with that became my love for fitness, eating the right way, working out, and the freedom of eating what I love while doing what I love. 

That journey is now one I take for life as I continue to eat the right meals and get excited to eat, to workout, to create a healthier body for myself, and put my health first feels amazing.
