Diagnoseklubben

Ever wondered how it is to be diagnosed with ADHD and/or Autism when you are an adult? And then learn, that one of the reasons for the late discovery most likely is because it is still believed, that especially ADHD is a "boys diagnosis". 

It isn't easy living a life with a diagnosis, and it is even harder when you don't know you have them. 

The podcast "Diagnoseklubben" is a personal perspective on exactly this. My co-host and I share our stories and our journeys. We share the hard and serious stuff and we share the more fun stuff. We talk about tips & tricks - what worked for us, what didn't. 

Because we are all different. What is a struggle for me might not be a struggle for you. And what I find easy might be the hardest thing for another person.

We will do our best to help destigmatizing having ADHD and/or Autism with honesty and some dry Danish humor!

The podcast is in Danish, but we are considering doing bonus episodes in English.

Moving a huge data centre from one Head Quarter building to another. I was in charge of migrating the following platforms:

Fully responsible for the Windows 10 Technology team. 

The Windows 10 Technology Team went through a huge transformation, they developed from being a small group of individuals to a high performance, cross functional team. The team went from no structure and lack of satisfaction with everyday work to a transparent, agile setup with pride in what they deliver. We delivered successfully ~3 months before deadline, and it is a pleasure to watch the team continue the great habits we learnt together. The Windows 10 Technology Team was front runner in the Agile Transformation, running agile for a year before the majority of Technology, and even the team, formally went through the transformation process.

IT Project Manager, SCRUM Master, Coach

Working with our Trading floor during their migration to new HQ gave me an insight into this part of the organisation. This made me aware of some misalignment between the Traders and the Digital Workplace Initiative projects, making me responsible for successfully upgrading our Traders and our International Units to Office 2016.

Finalising the last about 6-8 months of network setup in the new HQ building in Copenhagen, Denmark. I also made sure that besides having a functional network, that our employees could move office as planned. This included supporting the move of Trading Floor enabling me to gain a great connection with our Traders.

Hired into Nordea to support the build of an Hadoop Data Platform to support Big Data. Suporting the lead Project Manager in all parts of the project, including stakeholder management, steering committees, planning, developer and general resource management.

I am a teaching assistant in the mandatory course for first year Computer Science students "Project Course: System Development" and also in the course "IT Project Management (ITP)" which is optional for Computer Science students but mandatory for Health Informatics students.

Well Hello there! 

I’m Jenny - and I get 𝑒𝑙𝑒𝑐𝑡𝑟𝑖𝑐𝑎𝑙 nerve stimulation on a ℎ𝑒𝑎𝑙𝑡ℎ𝑦 leg because my doctor believes he can trick my brain back into sending correct signals to my leg with chronic nerve damage & pain. 😵 FUN! 😆

Thanks to my leg I’m a chronic pain patient. I am also late diagnosed with ADHD and Autism (got a 2 for 1 deal 💸) as well as a woman who has spent most her professional life in the IT Industry. 

And why am I sharing all this?

Because this is me. 

➡ I’m the odd-one that is completely fine being an outsider - I’ve been one my whole life and I’ve learned to embrace it. And also; I don’t like being in a 📦 - I am not a cat! 😸

➡ I’m the one that took not just a Bachelor but also a Master degree in Computer Science even though “𝑤𝑜𝑚𝑒𝑛 𝑐𝑎𝑛’𝑡 𝑐𝑜𝑑𝑒”, that I “𝑑𝑜𝑛’𝑡 𝑙𝑜𝑜𝑘 𝑙𝑖𝑘𝑒 𝑎 𝐶𝑜𝑚𝑝𝑢𝑡𝑒𝑟 𝑆𝑐𝑖𝑒𝑛𝑡𝑖𝑠𝑡” and the “𝑓𝑎𝑐𝑡” 𝑡ℎ𝑎𝑡 “𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑟𝑒’𝑠 𝑛𝑜 𝑤𝑜𝑚𝑒𝑛 𝑎𝑡 𝐶𝑜𝑚𝑝𝑢𝑡𝑒𝑟 𝑆𝑐𝑖𝑒𝑛𝑐𝑒 - 𝑜𝑛𝑙𝑦 𝑚𝑒𝑛 𝑖𝑛 𝑑𝑟𝑒𝑠𝑠𝑒𝑠”. 

➡ I’ve participated in research projects 🤓 with special focus on inclusion and the intersection between neuro- & gender diversity as well as Computer Science, and I’ve taught University students about Critical Design, Inclusive Design, Neurodiversity, and how to use it to change narratives with artefacts and a positive storytelling. 

➡ I’ve been a Program- & Project Manager for years in various IT fields which makes me highly aware of the importance of great communication based on actual facts 📣 - and the balancing act of tailoring communication to the intended audience. 

Oh - I almost forgot 

➡ ️I’m also the one that is a Stand-Up Comedian. 🎤 Because if there’s anything I’ve learned throughout life then it's the importance of being able to laugh. And humour is a great tool to make sure you engage the audience and make even the driest topics memorable. 😀
