We have a deep respect for our fellow business founders because we were founders ourselves.

We know just how much time, hard work, and struggle goes into building a company that customers love and keep coming back to.

Having invested in companies, sold companies and raised funding, we have seen the costs of the short-term mindset of private equity and venture capital up close. We wanted to do something fundamentally different.

Following the inspiration of Berkshire Hathaway, we decided to build the company that we would want to buy the companies we started.

•Perform all duties of a Controller or CFO for the small to medium-sized company.
•Lead all accounting operations, month-end close, financial reporting, audit preparation, and maintain internal controls.

WESTERN TIDEWATER HEALTH DISTRICT

•Direct and perform business and fiscal management activities of the Western Tidewater Health District (4 health clinics). 
•Develops the district budget, monitors expenditures, and performs reporting requirements related to the district’s financial operations.
•Provides leadership, training, and direction to fiscal staff supporting Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivables.
•Provides leadership, training, and direction to materials management staff.
•Ensures all supervised programs are following federal, state, and local laws in addition to VHD policies, procedures, and mission.
•Serves in the absence of the District Director for non-medical issues.
•Serves as a member of the District Leadership Team.
•Manages facilities and contracts.
•Manages the district CO-OP budget and all grant budgets for the district.

Business Manager C (Gen Admin MGR 1)

Lee-Strong Entreprises, LLC

•Franchise Owner – The Entrepreneur’s Source.
•Working as an Alternative Career Coach – assisted clients in deciding on the appropriate franchise.

VDOT (Virginia Department of Transportation)

•Develop policies and procedures for the new department.
•Work with Project Managers (Engineers) and Project Coordinators to review their District projects on a quarterly basis.
•Work with PMs to ensure certification of project expenditures, for all active projects.
•Provide contributory advice and direction to VDOT staff, consultants, and support staff on the fiscal management of projects. 
•Ensure timely and accurate updates to internal and external reporting systems.
•Track, monitor and report on the district’s compliance with the certification process.
•Process Final Vouchers for projects in the FHWA’s financial system – FMIS. 
•Assist Closeout Analyst with closing out the backlog of projects that are ready to be closed by phase(s).
•Work in tandem with all local VDOT departments and Central office in Richmond to accomplish all departmental goals.
•Process Funding Verifications for new projects at the request of District Program Managers.

A Christian Accounting Executive and Entrepreneur with over 20 years of diverse financial and accounting experience.  An entrepreneur, who has owned two small companies, with a strong entrepreneurial spirit of helping small and medium sized companies to succeed. Team-oriented, results-oriented leader skilled in managing teams with an emphasis strengthening accuracy, collaboration, communication, and cooperation across functional teams.

Experience in banking, manufacturing, medical, government and service industries. Specific experience in: GAAP, FAR, DFAR, DCAA, CAS, Federal Cost Principles, Audit prep, financial statement preparation and analysis, financial analysis, cost accounting (CAS), working with state agencies (VDOT and VDH); excise and state sales use tax reporting, and adjunct teaching.  Strong mentor and supervisor.  Enjoys coaching individuals and teams.  Over ten years of Entrepreneurial experience.

Graduate of Old Dominion University (BSBA) and Albany State University (MBA).
